Best KPortal Reviews

When we walked in, the owner asked if it was our first time and when we said no, he said these tamales were gonna change our life.
He was pretty spot on ???? absolutely fantastic tamales, as were the rice and beans. Masa was perfectly sponge like, not to moist or hard. Great flavor. Meats were excellent as was the verde sauce he out on (great kick). Avocado presentation was a nice touch. Surrounding area wasn't the nicest but who cares with tamales this bomb ????
Only going to be rating them based on my experience trying to get the big tamale and a burrito my father ordered. The line did not seem too long when I got there so I decided to wait. Saw a video on TikTok about their big tamale and I thought id give it a shot. Even though the line was not so long, it still took us about 2 and a half hours to order and get our tamales. The big tamale was pretty good, I would split the big tamale between 2 people because I only finished half. At the time I went you had to order the plate combo, you couldn't just order the table itself. The burrito my father ordered looked really dry and tasted bland unfortunately. Maybe they were focused on the tamales and didn't pay attention to the burrito as much but it was a bit disappointing. The tamale was good but not worth waiting hours for it. I understand its a small place and hype overcrowded it but I hope people now don't have to wait over 2 hours for their tamale order.
I was headed 2 Long Beach.
I called the day before to ask if I could call in the orders because we were coming in late. He said. "No come in we'll change your life"... I personally was concerned because I watched the YouTube videos and I seen. How long these lines are? And I was going to get in a very long line. And I'll be able to get my Tamale from the Tamale man and I tell you. It was delicious. The beans were good. The Rice was delicious and soft. I needed no salt very well, seasoned food. Will I come back!!! absolutely any time I am the Los Angeles area, I'm there. What I really liked is when I told him I called in. He said oh, that was you. Yes, sir, and I'm here you have a customer for life. Thank you for changing my life Tamale man.
Drove 45 min from Fullerton. When The Tamale Man says "it will change your life" he didn't lie. How will I ever eat Nanas tamales now????
He is super friendly and takes pridenin his business which is so nice to see. This is why we should support small business!!! Very clean! It does take a bit to get your food but it's definitely fresh. It was piping hot when you get it so you know!!!! Great vibe here and will definitely come back! Thank you Tamale man for a great expirience!!!!
Unfortunately I read all the negative reviews after visiting, I came in once a few years ago to check the place out when it was new and the owner was taking shots of tequila, sort of forgot about this and fast forward to today I finally decided to go in and actually try a tamale.
I was semi aware of the super duper tamale and apparently it went viral on tik tok or something? Anyways I wanted to try 1 and split it with my wife alongside a torta for myself. The owner told me no more tortas and seemed only interested in selling me any everyone else the super duper tamale.
He told me the tamale was $20 each which I'm like damn that's expensive but whatever let's try it so I get 2 and a $5 bottle coke woooo expensive we are now at $45 no copy of receipt as you'll see in all other reviews and of course I check my account and $49 is charged
Honestly the tamale is pretty good and big and filling and 1 can definitely be split between a couple. Just sucks the owner isn't transparent about pricing and has what id considerer a fake menu and is only interested in selling his $20 tamales
My recommendation go in with $20 cash if you wanna try the tamale split it with some as it is large. You'll enjoy it definitely
Awesome food! Very pricey. When they greet you, they don't give you options they just offer the super duper, duper tamale that's 3x meat.
Honestly, I didn't eat here, so I have no clue whether the food is good or not, I'm basing my review off service from the cashier and the price. First off, the dude at the register was kinda annoying. He was acting like there is no other place on earth that has better tamales. I didn't buy any food because, honestly, it was too much food on one plate, but I guess sharing is always a good option. second 22$ for a tamale with rice & beans is just insane for me, and personally, I'd never pay that much. And I don't know, but like I said, the guys was trying to impress us by saying his restaurant won awards and was telling us he's famous on tiktok, He was trying to hard to be a show off. Anyways yeah I won't come back.
Me and my friend came at night and seen the line was short. We waited 1 hour to place the order and when we get to the counter, this guy says “Are you ready to change your Life?” I smile and notice him right away from the Instagram videos. I was curious how many people were working because the line was long. Two in the kitchen and him taking orders. I’m a curious person and as soon I looked over the counter, this guy has the nerve to say to me, “what are you looking for?” He thought I was some type of health Inspector ???? and I walked away. When he calls our food he tells me, “why don’t you go to the Chinese place and maybe you can find some cockroaches there”. I laughed at him and don’t told maybe I will. He sounded so dumb saying that to me and in front of other customers. When I get home and about to ENJOY A MEAL, my plate was wrong, cold and very salty. I only took 3 bites and that was it. My plate cost 15 and up.
This place is not worth all the hype. If you like dog food by all means go for it. ???? This will be the first and last time going there.
The one thing I will never forget about this place is that he said “Are you ready to change your life!” ???? I’m like, “yup you changed my life alright by never going back here again! ???? Hope my review helps ???????? Good luck ????
