Lovely old pub where we enjoyed a very tasty roast dinner, which after a walk across the langdale pikes was well received. Draught lager was £6.50 a pint which I thought was a bit steep but the food and service was spot on.
Ate at The Talbot a couple of evenings while staying up the hill at Neaum Cragg.
The food is fantastic...Real good quality comfort food.
Well worth a visit or two.
Good choice on menu but not a crazy list of everything - I think they stick to what they know they do well. Food was very tasty, well presented and cooked well, but it could have been hotter. Good choice of beers and cask ales at the bar.
Popped in on the spur of the moment and had a very good meal. Very friendly atmosphere the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Very disappointing, the bar area where you eat was very dirty the table was filthy hadn't been cleaned sticky and dirty. The food was awful. The chips had been refried the fish was soggy and tasteless. The place needs a good clean. Won't be going back!
The service was excellent, the food was very tasty but the roast beef was cut too thick for my liking, but that's a personal thing. The reason for 2 stars for atmosphere,a little soft background music would have been nice, again a personal thing. If you are in the area, worth a look in
Stayed at Neaum Crag and ate here on four separate occasions. Each time our meal was gorgeous. Well kept ales and the staff made us feel really welcome and couldn't have been more helpful.

A nice bar, dog friendly and food served is nice. Staff accommodate needs. Expensive but probably in relation to the area.
