Friendly landlord, told us a bit of history about the place. Decent prices and friendly locals. Pub quiz on Thursdays.
It’s definitely a locals-type pub but there’s nothing wrong with that — I liked the decorations hung on the wall here

Local pub with local ale and local people, with a really unique band who were great fun and eclectic variation in music.
Fantastic old pub. Friendly staff, comfortable pub. Great selection of popular keg beers. Had one local ale on but tasted great & much better & fresher than the cheddar cheese across the road
Only 2 cask ales, both from the same brewery. Tried one - it was OK. They don't do food. Or at least not on the Tuesday (market day and during the Buxton International Festival) when I was there. Had to endure the bar staff and everyone else in the pub doing a crossword out loud. Won't be back.
I know you're not a restaurant but you do advertise you do food. If you don't, take the sign down.
