Worst GP practice ever! Recently joined as I bought a house nearby. Never met a receptionist sooo rude. I have witnessed her talk to people so inappropriately/borderline racist. I don’t know how she is still working there. I am only with them as I have a newborn baby but have already got registration forms for another gp. PLEASE AVOID! She even told us if we don’t like it we should go somewhere else, that night i was rushed into a and e and had an emergency op. She was shouting at me for asking for an appointment as my stitches had opened post birth… absolutely appalling ????????
My partner and father-in-law have been registered at this surgery for a good few years and always had glowing experiences with Dr. Marks and while I find him to be great it's the receptionist who is letting this practice down.
ON multiple occasions I have tried to get an appointment for my son, once at 8 months and I was yelled at down the phone from the receptionist for calling back as the Doctor is very busy and how dare I chase up the call back (which never came).
I recently tried to get my son (He's 1 for context) an appointment for a suspected ringworm issue to which the receptionist refused to book an appointment and that I could get a call back later in the evening to discuss over the phone. As he was really poorly I took him round there and the Doctor very nicely gave him a quick look over. The receptionist proceed to barge in and have a go at us saying that we shouldn't have bothered as it's not a 'walk-in center' and she told us he would call us when he had the time. My son ended up in hospital the next day from tonsillitis which led to sepsis and we got told by A&E at Queens how lucky we were to have brought him in when we did.
It's a shame to have to leave such a bad review as I think the Doctor himself is great but I'll be moving Doctors practices to find one that will have better care for my child.
Absolutely appalling. It is extremely hard to get an appointment. Especially where I need morning appointments I start calling from 7.58am to book an appointment and around the 200th call if I’m luckily I can get a late afternoon appointment. I have gone to the doctors just after 8am to see why I can get my calls answered and nobody answers the door or the phone. It is very frustrating especially when you really need to see the doctor.
On top of the one of the receptionists is the most rude person I’ve ever met she is horrible and always seems to argue with patients.
I ran to the car to check my kids and the doctor said when I back knock on his door, which I did and the receptionist tried to embarrass me in front of other patients and say excuse me you cannot just come in here and knock on that door until the doctor himself told her he asked me too. I do not recommend this place at all!!!!
I came to this gp months ago to register in person and only just received an update call when another gp signed me up within a week. Without letting me talk, the receptionist was shouting continuously and was extremely rude, disgusting customer service and lack of respect in this place. Definitely avoid if you dont want to be screamed at.
An update*: My current dr has investigated the matter and was not scabies, but lack of iron in my body (close to anaemia) and potential parasites in my organs that are being treated. The rash is slowly fading away ????????
Do not recommend.
Every time you call to book for an appointment, phones always goes to invoice or rings and goes to invoice again.
I came in about 3 years ago to look at my wrists, as I noticed a few bumps, (dr marks), was convinced there was nothing there. I repeatedly told him I know my skin, and this is unusual… He was persistent that it wasn’t anything serious. Turns out I have scabies…!!! Before it was a small area that could have potentially been treated quickly as I noticed it early. But now It may take a little longer as both of my wrists leading along the hands are covered in these bumps that have become from time to itchy.
Never in my life had eczema, and to say that this could have been prevented. Doctors either give out paracetamol to everything and anything, or deliberately don’t treat problems because of their ignorance.
Avoid
Warning ⚠️ very rude ,don't answer the phone (I have witness the phone not docked while receptionist is on face time
When you do get a appointment you have to wait around as the doctors not on site
Always busy as receptionist books appointment at the same time
Only 3 chairs available in a waiting room
Not very welcoming very run down
Nhs need looking into this practice
Rude receptionist tells you to phone back for you to phone back and get moaned at because the doctors wife is a incompetent receptionist and gives out wrong information
Definitely could do some work on her people skills
I will not be told by the receptionist to come in help as she understaffed because I asked why tell me to phone back if I have to wait for a txt
Instead of arguing with her I put the phone down I will not tolerate being spoken to in such a rude manner
Doctors not much better they make a lovely rude couple
Nhs is going down because of places like this
Your job is to help people and before you send out stupid text your a receptionist not a Dr do your job properly you need training in customer service.people will talk to you like that if you have no compassion for people who are obviously in pain mentally or physically they are phoning you for help.please think when you send this email to vulnerable patients
Registering at this surgery should have been the caution I needed as we were given a time to come to do so but then spent an hour and a half waiting for the receptionist to take our forms, during which time we were just ignored. The building is very small and tired inside and there were a large number of people standing in the tiny reception area for over an hour as there are only a few chairs against a wall. The administrators seem chaotic and it appears that the surgery uses paper notes which are in disarray.
My experience of trying to get help from this surgery was awful. I called 61 times(!) when it opened before I got through as the call just terminates if the receptionist is unavailable or on the phone. I explained (at about 08.10 am) that my 2-year-old was screaming in pain with constipation and this was had resulted in a prolapse previously so I wanted her to be seen. I was told the receptionist who answered couldn't book appointments so I needed to wait for a call back. I tried to call back several times through the day and couldn't reach anyone. Nobody contacted us until 21.45 (pm) and the GP just immediately prescribed suppositories (which I had already bought in an effort to help her). I wanted somebody to actually check my child over but this did not happen. She has subsequently continued to struggle with this and sometimes refuses to eat all day. I have no confidence that this surgery will attend to my child's needs and so am seeking to move to another surgery.
Been with this surgery for 60+ always had a fantastic service safe always very helpful and Dr marks is a great doctor
