Best KPortal Reviews

Very nice dog friendly pub with great real ale (brewed on-site) and generous portions of home cooked food. The landlord and staff were super friendly whilst still adhering to social distancing (COVID period). We will definitely call again if we are in the area.
This is an all thrills, no frills experience. A simple menu with traditional pub fayre (lasagna, pies, steaks, curry, etc.). So many ales to choose from. The best steak that I have been served, whilst out, in years (including at some rather expensive places). Very generous portions. Great value for money. The friendliest of service. And absolutely brilliant if you have a dog with you.
This is not high end eating but here you will find excellent pub meals, well cooked, served with a smile, and at a fantastic price.
Absolute gem.
Traditional Country Pub with the added bonus of an on-site Brewery.
Pub Food, pleasant and good price.
Locals made us feel very welcome, stopped over in our Camper and will definitely return.
Norm, the Landlord and head brewer is a star and the ever hard working Megan made us feel most at home.
Great night at The Sun, amazingly welcoming landlord, the traditional pub food was plentiful and good as was the specialist beer, wine and the odd vodka or three.
Eight happy people, three dogs given treats, free pool, great night out. Thanks Norm and team you were great x
Was visiting for the Shindig in the Shire marathon which started and finished from the pub car park. Sampled the real ale (all brewed on site) marvelous and ate a couple of good hearty meals to boot. Super friendly service, nothing too much trouble, what hospitality!!
A great country pub and rare find: Miles away from the chain pub ubiquity; a pub with great beer, brewed on site, good hearty and tasty reasonably priced food, friendly staff and family run. Norman is chatty and welcoming, and you have the impression every bit of the quirky decor has a tale behind it somewhere and reflects a life well lived, rather than bulk purchased from some interior design warehouse of horsebrasses and faux-traditional pubiche. Free pool table, and very reminiscent of how pubs used to be, should be, often try very hard to be, but so often aren't.
Great pub with warm friendly staff. England at it's very best ,great character to pub and lovely location with amazing warm friendly landlords like Norman. Keep up the great work.
Shame about lockdown as this pub has a real local feel to it. Even with masks and social distancing it still feels friendly and serves a mean pint and fab food. Roll on December 2
