The Steakhouse of Helena was pretty much a disappointment for us. We really wanted it to become one of our go-to steak houses but it just didn’t happen. The parking is absolutely nonexistent. You can park behind the restaurant along the side of the street your other option is parking at nearby businesses. As for the service, we didn’t wait long to be seated but we waited forever for our food. When we finally did, we were not happy! The steaks we ordered well done actually ended up rare and the steaks we ordered medium-well ended up well done. I was not real excited with my steak portion size either! I ordered the daily special which included shrimp and steak. The special came with five shrimp which was OK but my steak was well undersized. It was supposed to be a 6oz or 8oz steak and come out about the size of my dinner roll. We did read some good reviews and we decided to eat at The Steakhouse of Helena and I’m sure its much better than what we got on our visit. But, on this visit, we didn’t get what we expected by a long shot! We’ll be back at some point and hopefully this steakhouse will become one of our go-to restaurants!
This place is a gem! I wanted a good steak and I definitely got it! The filet was cooked to perfection. The service was great. Jay was our server and he was awesome. All the food was on point. We had several drinks and enjoyed them all. The adult lemonade was my favorite. I will be back, epecially for a good steak!
Omg... Can't believe we waited so long to try this place. Food was amazing. I had steak tips with rice. He had chopped steak with gravy. Delicious! And definitely try the potatoes au gratin. Service was great too. Overheard a server talking to another server saying, "honestly, I can't recommend certain things when they ask because everything is so good." We will be back!
We haven’t been here since it first opened maybe 2 years ago. We tried it Wednesday and had great food, service, and drinks. The margarita was awesome, and so was the Salmon salad and hamburger steak. We went back Friday and had a similar experience.
The only complaint I have is they still have no background music. Maybe that is by design, but it just feels like something is missing.
We will keep coming back.
The atmosphere is great! I really wanted this to be great, but I've tried it several times and it is not great. In fact, at some point the quality of the food seemed to go down. Its a shame because it is a great area and a great look on the inside. One night we went in and the hostess actually said something to the effect that this isn't going to work tonight guys, and it wasn't because the place was full. I really hoped for better and I hope that it is better later, but, again, I gave it several chances. The steak was just fair and a bit overpriced.
First time visiting. Looking for somewhere less corporate chain and more small town hidden gem? This is the place. Atmosphere was cozy. Absolute hit for our anniversary dinner. NY strip was fantastic. Large cut, seasoned well, cooked correct to order. All sides, rolls, appetizer, made fresh. My family and I really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back.
This steakhouse is the BOMB!! My husband and I both had the 5oz. filet and they were PERFECTION. The seasoning, the sear, the temperature…all perfect!
They have amazing sides to choose from. I had asparagus and it was cooked perfectly. My husband had the Brussels sprouts and loved them.
If you love margaritas, they make their own mix…muy importante!!! They are delicioso!!
It was my birthday meal and Krista, our AMAZING server gave me a dessert, on the house (who does that anymore)???

I had a surprise birthday dinner . Everything was excellent from the atmosphere, food, drinks and customer service. I along with my guests thoroughly enjoyed everything. This is a hidden gem and great steakhouse.
