Excellent place, I find it best to visit myself, reasonably priced with excellent quality and service. Down side, if you go has a large party please book and the Bar receipt is separate from the food side. Easy to work out.please let this put you off...
Tired surroundings, alway seems to be friends of the bar staff in the seating area which is very off putting, Indian food was good, shame its not there anymore as ot was the only reason we went. Needless to say I will not be going again. Check that the pub is still open as it won't be soon.

Also I've taken my staff for a drink and it's nice to find somewhere you can just relax.

Hidden Gem, Star Balti, great service, happy attentive staff both in the bar and the restaurant. Food 1st class, booking recommend to avoid disappointment. £17.95 for 5 courses! Fbk page regularly updated with offers, Lamb biryani ????????????????melt in the mouth! Child friendly. Coffee with cream to finish,or ice cream ????. Will certainly return. Keep up the hard work guys ????????????????
Probably chose the worst evening to visit when restaurant/kitchen was short staffed but instead of letting diners know what was going on (found out via their post the next day on facebook), they tried to cram everyone in and then had people waiting over 2 hours for food to arrive. A number of tables walked out. It's a shame because the food was nice (not up to Tingley balti usual standard), but still OK.
Please do not be fooled by any negative reviews- I was sceptical at first because of them too. However, I had to bare in mind we only tend to write reviews when feeling disgruntled- I was proved wrong by The Star Inn! So here I am with a good review! Really lovely pub, friendly staff- really helpful and attentive, very clean and well kept inside, great value for money, home cooked food. We ordered two meals and a side and sat in the beer garden- could not fault the food at all! Piping hot, tasted amazing, lots of verity/options. You could tell it was freshly made to order. The staff we spoke to- a really kind man and lovely waitress- Rosie perhaps? made us feel very welcome and checked on us a few times incase there was anything else we needed. After our visit yesterday we will definitely be back! Thank you for a lovely evening!
As locals we booked a table to support a local business. But it was a waste of time. We booked a table and were seated on time. It was 20mins before our order was taken and we left 45 mins later with no further interaction with the staff. We explained we were unhappy and were leaving. It was disappointing that restaurant staff offered no apology. It should be noted that bar staff, under different management, were very good throughout. We won't be going back.
