Cool stop we made before a basketball game. They had a spot where you buy a card and can pour your own beer which is a nice touch, they have a huge beer selection. Service was top notch and kept us refilled. Lots of open seating when we arrived but did get busy towards the start of the game. Food was solid, I really enjoyed the nachos and would get them again.
In town for work and happened by on a Saturday, the menu is brunch only until 3 and is very short - I was looking for lunch and made do with a brunch burger. The burger was fine though it came with a sauce not listed in the menu which I did not like and they fixed me a new one. The place was fairly empty so service was quick and nice. I would try them again on a different day / time as brunch wasn't impressive but some of the other menu items looked good.
I tried to go to the restaurant twice. The first time for dinner. The hostess indicated they were not taking food orders for an hour and asked if we wanted to wait. I declined. The second time, I went there for lunch, There were no hostesses available. We waited about 10 minutes. We seated ourselves because no one asked to help us. Shortly after, the waitress immediately asked the next customer who came in after us, if she could help them. This was clearly discriminatory behavior. Unacceptable!
Obviously, I do not recommend this place!
First time here but if I am ever in the area then I wouldn’t mind coming back. Basically, for the food. If the special that they had that day was that good, I can imagine that a lot of the menu as well as specials are just as flavorful and filling. The staff were good but there were a few that outshine the rest and continued to thoroughly assist when needed. Now this place is spacious and welcoming, looks slightly fancy and is in downtown Pittsburgh so you can expect that parking on most days might not be easy. They have a full bar and a small menu with different options as well as specials. I opted for the special for that day and their shrimp po boy did not disappoint my taste bud. Seriously, huge chunks of fried shrimp on bread served with coleslaw and homemade potato chips. The menu is slightly pricier than your standard bar and restaurant, but I think for the quantity and taste, it evens out.
If a typical customer ordered parmesan tots as an appetizer, they would assume they would receive bite sized finger food to share with friends. Wrong. Instead I got 4 or 5 giant meatball sized breaded pieces that tasted weird. The sauce was good, but huge tots were an odd appetizer item. We came during "happy hour" yet the staff were asking each other if there was a happy hour menu. Don't you know? You work here right? Bartender nor server were friendly. I felt like we were inconveniencing them by being there with our group from the moment we arrived. Maybe they were having a tough day. Not sure. I'd return for beer.
Typical “bar” food, but pretty good-not excellent. The Steak Frites was not so good but the hamburgers are better than average. Our server was bad, but that happens. Great location and perfect spot to watch sports or televised events. The serve yourself beer wall is awesome.
After a day of flights and checking into a hotel all you want is good food, a drink, and if the service is good you have a win. Rachel, made the Standard everything we could have hoped for and more. Vegetarian options=mouth watering. Beer options= an exciting time!
There was nothing overtly wrong but I did just pay $30 for a soda and fish sandwich that was extremely subpar. The side salad was better than the fish sandwich. I’ve never seen a fish sandwich so small and also it was very dry and unflavored.
