No food consumed. It is helpful that this pub has a rear entrance as it assists with parking. Ales are well kept. It's just a pity that the real Ales app is not kept up to date. Bar staff need to be more friendly. They just serve without a smile or a nice word. Very pleasant eating area. I will use the pub again, despite its shortcomings.

Went to the stag for lunch and a pint after a walk along Walmer sea front food was very good from a small but good lunch time menu. A good selection of beers with guest draft beers. Very friendly staff good atmosphere and very clean. This was the first time here and will be going back
Wasnt greeted as we entered, ask about food, was told no food today but they had rolls, we was starving and not local, so did the trick. No thank you when served, no smile, no thank you when leaving. Wasnt busy. No customer service. Won't be returning. Was tues afternoon 10/10/23
Nice pub, lovely friendly atmosphere
Update: "Quite some time after your visit!" I review places I visit when Google reminds me about them. In this case, a week ago. Not bad considering that both Christmas and New Year celebrations occurred between my visit and my review, not to mention my flight from the UK back to the USA and returning to work. Sorry I wasn't more prompt. Like I said, if you like sports bars, give The Stag a try.
Original: This is more like a sports bar than other bars in Deal. The World Cup was on the TVs when I visited. It was loud (mostly from one particular guy), and one guy was sitting on his own at a table for 3, while the three of us stood waiting for a table. To make things worse, that one guy left his drink and his coat at the table while he went off and joined another table! Not the bar's fault, but with so few seats available, they might have policed it a bit better. The bar has a pool table and a dartboard, both of which limit the amount of seating available. If sports bars are your thing, give The Stag a try.
Food and service great probably one of the best for pub food definitely worth a visit good selection of ales etc and nice atmosphere oh an yer can take yer dog in too so 5 star place
