It was about 2 years ago when I first booked a room in The Stables. This proved to be a pleasant surprise; good facilities, clean, quiet, nice location, excellent value for money - plus a full English breakfast for only £5.
If it's anything to go by: over the past 2 years I've travelled to the UK a number of times and booked a room in The Stables every time I was over. Well worth it.

Attended for a work event. Very nice location in lovely setting. Lunch good, staff nice. Car parking a long way from the hotel and the room we worked in is getting tired.
Fantastic place my daughters wedding was here Debbie who looks after you is amazing. The food is fantastic and the service too. Debbie can't do enough for you highly recommend this place for a wedding x
Cons: DJ is shite and will ignore you , rooms are shite and there are rats in the ceiling, parking is awful, "rooms" are actually repurposed college dorms.
Pros: chef makes mean hot wings, and the sandwiches are the worth the hospitality holocaust.
Wedding reception venue was very good, but bought a glass of wine at the evening do and I think it came out of a Sarsons bottle. Try before you buy or waste your cash.
Came here for a friend's wedding. The staff are amazing. They couldn't do enough for the bride and groom. The good was outstanding too.
Visited The Stables for a work event. Nice location set in beautiful surroundings. Parking a long way from the venue. Lunch really nice.
Friendly staff, excellent cooked breakfast, rooms were clean, ensuite good, only negative was the car parking and distance from accommodation.
