We popped into the cafe with some friends and our children for coffee and cake before we headed home. We gave our children some small snacks whilst the adults ordered.
We were quickly told by a staff member that we were not allowed a picnic and we must eat food from the cafe only. We informed him that we were ordering coffee and cake as well, but he still insisted. They were only snacks, not sandwiches so this seemed a very unwelcoming rule from the cafe. We bought 2 coffees and a flapjack which came to £10, coffee was cold and flapjack didn’t taste nice. The options for children was limited, so if you insist on this rule have some options.
We unfortunately won’t be coming back.
The coffee wasn't too bad, but the food wasn't appetising, not nearly for what they charge, and the service seemed to be lacking. A lot of potential and I hope it improves.
Spacious interior, limited outside seating. Food was okay on a very busy day. Definitely recommend.
The cafe wasn't great to be honest when I went. It was very busy on arrival and the queue took ages to go down; I must have been queuing for at least half an hour before I was served.
I ordered a burger and tea and the burger is just a microwaved patty in a room temp bread bun with some nice tomato relish.
Very basic, reheated food. Lack of staff knowledge. Coffee vending machines instead of barista machines. Very weak. Staff putting the side salads on with their hands from a cooling tray. Burnt reheated food
The kids beans on toast was a massive bowl of beans and then one piece of dry toast. £3.05. It was a bit disappointing to be honest, could have at least buttered the toast.
The vegan platter was basically a dried up salad (no dressing) and then a cold vegetable pasty. It did come with very watery vegan coldslaw and some onion relish that were ok but the cold pasty was the main thing and it was just a bit... Meh. Maybe serve it warm and provide some dressing for the salad. cost was £8 something. Oh and randomly, it had two sticks of raw celery plonked in the middle as that's obviously what all vegetarians eat....
Staff weren't knowledgeable on the food. Didn't know what was in the pasty and didn't know whether the toast should be buttered.
Specials today are hot dog, sausage sandwiches and chorizo toastie, except we don't have any sausages, or chorizo. So just hot dog then... And it's only 11:30.
Lovely to be out in the open and go into a cafe for a coffee, albeit a take away. Lovely place to be especially with free parking. Havent been there for years as parking too expensive normally.
