Lovely room, toasty warm, clean, great space, nice big bed, mattress was a little hard for me but my husband didn’t mind it. Nice hot shower, a bit wobbly on the wall ! Lots of fresh clean towels. Host was fantastic and very helpful. Will definitely book again as a fantastic price. Plenty of off street parking. Taxi into looe cost about £10. Lovely area. Not bed and breakfast but a handy kitchenette in room with mini fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave. Tea, coffee and mini milk pot’s available. Great base for visiting surround area.
This review is for another property managed by the same lady. The customer service, I'm sure, won't change.
The Harbour Moon Looe
Sadly, the experience here was poor. We arrived at the property to be told that if we forgot our key, we would be locked out with nobody around to help until morning. This was the first thing said to us. We then had an apology from the staff for the damp due to flooding. We were told it's only the corridor, but getting into the room, it was also damp. We were told it's not damp and the room is ready for us. However, we can make it "smell better if we'd like." At this point, I asked for our money back. We were offered a free drink to compensate, or we could be moved 3 miles down the road. This wasn't acceptable as we clearly wanted to stay in Looe. The landlady then threatened us with the police and explained that she would make sure we left by watching us on the CCTV camera on a call to my mobile as her son is the "manager" but unable to make decisions. Avoid this property at all costs.
A B&B that doesn’t do breakfasts! Room adequate, bed not the comfiest. TV didn’t work, virtually no WiFi signal. There was a fridge, microwave in the room if that is of use to you. Our room was set below the level of the car park & with the lack of nets at the window there was absolutely no privacy unless you had the curtains closed… (we kept them open as the room was dark with them closed, presumably the guests who we saw looking in enjoyed the view!!)
On the plus side this guest house is well situated for Looe( taxi fares a bit eye watering though!) and the Eden Project is not too far away.
The most horrible staff ive ever met ,Not helpful at all when we arrived and found out we had two rooms that should have a 2 and a 3 person room .Then we were told that no way our son could go in room as both for 2 even though we booked for 5.I asked for a refund as we had paid 10 mins before we got there and was told i dont care if you go or stay no refunds .The room was dirty not cleaned properly so i stayed in my car the first night and on the second i had to book another hotel for myself so spolit our weekend away.I would reccomend not staying there and the guy who runs this place is a nightmare. Also booking .com gave me a partial refund eventually.
Stayed here with my boyfriend for 4 nights at the end of June last month, we got room number 11. Lovely little place with all the facilities we needed (except a fridge although this was no bother to us). No signs of damp in the room at all on the contrary to a few bad reviews I had read. Everything was lovely and clean. They even have free WiFi! The keys were left in our room shortly before our arrival so we could let ourselves in and head out once we were ready. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. Tea and coffee were filled and bins were emptied each day whilst we were out along with fresh towels free of charge:) Non-decaff coffee provided in the rooms would be the only thing that could of made this place better!! Perfect for anyone who drives wishing to stay near Looe as the town centre is a little far from the hotel. We were given a few contact numbers in case we had any issues but couldn't find a fault with the place. Would recommend a short stay 100%.
Quiet and comfy, it is what it is .No meals provided, but not too far from Looe . Strange rules set by the management and the managers customer service needs improving ( some guests may feel insulted )
I booked a 3 night stay for my boyfriend and I last week on Booking.com. Was very concerned afterwards when i read all of the negative reviews on here but turns out we had nothing to worry about!||||The outside of the hotel is in need of tlc and a car is a must for the rural location. ||||However, we stayed in Room 8 which is part of a row of ground floor rooms. The interior is beautifully decorated, spotless, and comfortable. All that was missing was a fridge! ||||We really enjoyed our stay and would return. ||The only weird thing is that we saw no staff the whole time. Communication was done via phone but during covid a contactless check-in is preferable. ||||If you have a car then this is a nice place for a comfy stay for a couple.
I booked a surprise overnight stay here. Absolutely smashing place. ||||The room was spotless with two comfy chairs in and a lush bed - we slept like babies! ||||There was a large bathroom and wardrobe space. The proprietors have obviously put thought into the room layout.||||It was the perfect place to base yourself and go off.
