delicious pizza, whole or by the slice, this spot aims to please. the slices are huge, with enormous cheese pull and tasty toppings. beer served as well. relaxing atmosphere, and reasonably priced, ill eat here again.
I was looking specifically for NY style pizza and this place did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in we received a warm greeting. We ordered the 20” for the 4 of us , and they had a great beer selection. Our pizza was ready in about 12-15 minutes and looked spectacular right out of the oven. A very hospitable staff to say the least. My family felt very welcomed and cozy while we ate. Will definitely come back. Also a Veteran owned business ????????
Internet, I just had this pizza and having lived in Jersey City, it’s legitimately NJ. This pizza makes me speechless. There are meals you have that serve their purpose and then there are meals that touch your soul…this is one of those. Tried the Marg and NJ. Can’t wait for trying NY! Great pie SS! Keep it up!
1/4/24 update…Slice Spot still serving up the greatest hits of pies. Would have taken a picture of it, but my kids destroyed any evidence of pizza before I could snap one. Not a crust left and these people don’t eat crust. If you’re local and SS isn’t a frequent order out for you, cheat on your new years’ resolution diet of kale and granola with one of these tasty pies.
My fiance and I came here for lunch for a slice of pizza, and it was so amazing that we both had to go back up for another one. We also tried their buffalo wings which were outstanding.
Aside from the food being amazing, the atmosphere was great and seems like a fun place to go for a game, drink and some food.
As great as the food and atmosphere were, the best part of the place was Renee with her great personality and awesome service.
We cant wait to come back!
We used to order a half margherita and half chi-town pizza every once in awhile prior to the new ownership. The pizza was never soggy and the crust was always crispy. This pizza soaked through the pizza box. This is probably due to the amount of liquid in the toppings, but we had no issue previously. The margherita half always had fresh basil too, but this one came with no basil. The pizza had a good outside crust, but the rest of it was very soggy. The service was nice and the restaurant looked more welcoming. The new owners are probably still adjusting, so this may not be a typical experience.
Great pizza good price and a great atmosphere. Lots of updates since I've been here 2 years ago. Very impressed!
-Update January 2024-
I have been away from the Suburbs that I did not know my favorite pizza in West Chicago is under new ownership. What happened to Joe?
The people were very welcoming and the place is very lively. This is a good hangout place. It seems like the pizzeria now serves more food options though I didn't really browse the menu.
I get now the reviews that I have read after my surprise. I was told that the pizza I will get is still the same pizza that I loved. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I only order a whole Jersey pizza and a slice of other kind in the past. The friend I share this pizza with only eat pepperoni and/or sausage pizza and Jersey pizza was perfect. It has this type of pepperoni and sausage that we love. It made the pizza special apart from the signature Jersey style pizza dough…which is the best lol When I opened the box of pizza when I got to my destination, the excitement I always have while looking forward to the first bite did not last. The dough was not bad, good under carriage—- a bit crispy and chewy at the same time. The look of the pizza is different as the pepperoni was thinner than I remember it was and sausage was crumbled not the sliced that we get the happy bites whenever we chew on it. Not sure if it was the same sauce, too. Don’t get me wrong, the pizza was decent and did not taste bad. It was just not as special as it used to be. I did not get the “happy bite”. In the past, I’d drive an hour just to have a taste of this pizza but right now, I am not sure.
If the old ingredients are back, I’ll definitely try to order again.
I hope Joe and his family are okay.

I swear I meant to take a photo but we ate it all before remembering about the pic.
This is my favorite pizza outside Chicago. Everything’s great and ingredients are of high quality. On top of that, they are always friendly.
I just wish they would offer a discount if I buy 8 different slices from their display (because I love them all) I’ve always wanted to do that but will be costly.
I also wish they will have packets of parmesan cheese and liquid hot sauce available to go.
Otherwise, it is always worth the 40 minute one way drive. ❤️❤️❤️
First off, I came in during non-busy hours and was greeted by the owner who was super friendly and welcoming. The inside is fairly large and outdated, but that’s okay. I came for the food. I want to preface by saying I’ve had hundreds if not thousands of slices of pizza from around Chicagoland and can attest to what different styles of pizza should be or need.
I had two slices, a margarita and a cheese. Let me tell you that these slices are some of the best east coast thin crust slices I’ve had anywhere in Chicagoland. Made me feel like I was back in New Jersey. The crust was perfect, the pizza sauce had a perfect bite and taste, and the flavors were just all there. I also want to take a second to mention that these slices weren’t even made fresh, these were two slices I picked from the heating trays that were premade earlier. I can only imagine how amazing the fresh stuff is… which really boggles my mind as to how they were this good.
If you’re looking for a east coast thin crust, this is your place. Go try it.
