To be frank the attitude of the staff is so borderline hostile that I received a better welcome in saurons dungeon.
Teapot is about the amount of manners that you will get if you ask for anything other than the menu and lord forbid should you make the fopar of calling it a full English Breakfast.
The bacon on Sunday is Saturdays bacon that has been exposed to the fires of mount Doom, and the Uri kia have a more robust sense of customer service and they had the common decency to at least carry hobbits with them.
If you would like my advice, avoid the cafe and it's proprietor and head further down the A75 turn left into Gatehouse of Fleet and go to the Galloway Lodge where they will more than happily serve you with a smile and the quality is considerably better.
Disgruntled gandalf the white.
We stopped here on a trip up to Cairnryan.
We saw the roadside sign beforehand and stopped in the lay by expecting a catering trailer, but it's an attractive wooden cabin.
Set beside a sea inlet, there's a pleasant view out to the rear. There's also several wooden pub benches outside for those who enjoy fresh air, smoking or have a dog with them.
Inside there are four or five tables, mostly seating six. Interestingly, the chairs look like they came from a church, but are still comfortable enough.
There is a good choice of food of the breakfast variety, to either eat in or takeaway. Prices are very reasonable.
We both had the full breakfast, which was £6 each and one tea, one coffee. Total £15. The tea was a bit tasteless, but everything else was very good indeed. Payment is cash only, no cards.
They have a ladies and gents customers toilets, although not wheelchair accessible. The main entrance is level access though.
The Kettle is popular with locals and is worth stopping for if you're in the area.
I’ve passed this place so many times and wanted to try it and finally today we were able to stop and on the way from the ferry. Quaint, cosy and completely charming with a beautiful view of the water, trees and birds. Teas, coffees, treats and very tempting bacon baps on offer. Best of all, it’s clearly got regulars who stop by for a chat and friendly cup of tea.
What happened to the little gem on a75 near gatehouse of fleet on the drive to Stranraer? It looks like the owner lost interest had breakfast, would give it 6 out of 10 ,lovely place to stop in the past very disappointing it turned into a greasy spoon truck stop ,needs a update or new caring owner and staff ,doesn't feel welcoming anymore ,chip in mugs , on plus side coffee was ok ,not sure if i would go back when passing, time to find another stop to eat suggestion wellcome
Brilliant little cafe, stopped in for a roll n sausage & egg with a coffee and was able to enjoy my lunch with a great view of the bay from the picnic tables around the back. Good hot rolls and the coffee is great!!! It will keep you awake for days. ????
Came across this beaut of a place on my way up to Girvan. Lovely views, the lady working was nice and helpful and pleasant. Food was amazing. Will recommend this place to all my trucking colleagues.
Lovely coffee and a roll. Also best gipsy cream biscuit I've had. Sat out back in peaceful surroundings. Prices very reasonable. Would definitely go again.
A mom and pop cafe. Friendly staff, good place to stop for breakfast. Amazing views from the back.
