Lovely old village pub. Busy on a Sunday, which was a quiz night. Had steak & kidney pie with chips & veg, which was delicious. Had the draught IPA (can't recall which brewery it was) which was also very good indeed. Service from the friendly staff was spot on, despite being busy. I was staying at the nearby campsite, which was just 5 minutes by walk from the pub. What a great experience, fully recommended.
A popular gem of a pub resting on decades of great reputation. A warm welcome awaits regulars and visitors alike. Deliciously home cooked meals served in super generous portions unrivalled locally for value. I had a lovely seasonal venison casserole, and many ingredients here are locally sourced. A good range of beers, including very local brews, very popular in summer months, arrive early, or reserve your table to avoid disappointment. Ample parking and easy to access location.
My first visit, a proper country pub with low ceings and atmosphere seeping out the beams.
Real fire ???? was a bonus, a decent menu and a good selection of drinks.
We had an excellent lunch in front of the huge fireplace .
Really recommend a visit to this little gem in the Sussex countryside.

Absolutely filthy. That's how I felt after eating the pork bell it was beautiful, fried to perfection and served with garlic bread. Perfectly matched with a pint of Harveys.
I just need to roll over and go to sleep now.

Family and bike friendly this place has been the home of Sunday for decades. The food is Amazing... in large portions. Come n see the wide variety of bikes music n faces while sitting in a proper country pub with the best atmosphere you could want.
My favorite place to have a relaxed and tasty Sunday meal. Have been going here for years, always have the Sussex smokie so can only rate that, but it is amazing. My husband always has the ribs, which look yummy.
