Went out last Wednesday for dinner at Shrimp box since they opened for the season. We always enjoyed the food but this time it was exceptionally great!
I had the broiled stuffed shrimp and my husband had the tuna steak. For appetizers we had soup, Manhattan clam chowder. It was delicious!! The waitress was very helpful and attentive in getting what we wanted and needed. I asked if there was a new chef and she said yes.
Definitely worth going too. Went home stuffed and content. The views were beautiful too with the sun setting on the Manasquan inlet.
The restaurant has the best view and has outdoor and indoor seating. The wait for 2 people in a crowded restaurant was less than 10 minutes which was great. Parking is bad though have to drive around a few times to get lucky in getting a spot. The service is not the best. We had to ask to get our waiter after sitting at the table for 15 minutes without being greeted or asked for our drinks. The food was okay but a little pricey. Overall would recommend to try it out
On a whim, my friend and I stopped in at the Shrimp Box Patio Bar on Thursday. We had a nice seat where we could enjoy being outside but weren't directly in the line of the bright sun. Our waitress Julia was a sweetheart, always checking in on us. We enjoyed our grilled shrimp wraps and our drinks. We were able to enjoy playing "catch up" without ever feeling rushed. Thanks Julia for suggesting the Pistachio Ricotta cheesecake - it was a delicious way to end the evening!
I really love this place and we took here our family who came to visit us from UK ????????. Everything was great and our waiter was very polite and attentive. We had table near the window ???? we took trio broiled fish scallops and shrimps. Plus fried calamari. Dessert was carrot cake, ice cream and apple pie. All was tasty and fresh!!
When I head to the shore around point pleasant and I want a good meal for sure, I come here. This place makes excellent food, and I've eve enjoyed things I normally don't, like clam chowder or lobster. The drinks are good and the service is friendly. The only disappointing part is the lack of parking at the restaurant.
The location is nice right on the water with a beautiful view. They have a valet out front if parking gets tight so it is convenient. The fish wasn’t great and the restaurant overall seems like it needs a sprucing up. The buffalo chicken wrap with fries were good. The fish tacos were average. I had heard better things about this place but didn’t find it good other than the view.
All 3 of us loved our entrees. Great service!
I had salmon, prepared just as I asked, no butter, with a wedge of lemon on the side plus herbs. The fresh veggies were prepared just right: neither under nor overcooked.
Parkin not great. Drop the old folks at the door.
OK, I know it’s not summer yet. However we visited the shrimp box for the first time and we have to say it was excellent! Our server Taylor was superior and went above and beyond. The atmosphere is amazing and the food is delicious. We will definitely be back And we highly recommend this spot whether you’re on vacation or you live here year-round
