We've driven past this place so many times wondering if this place was any good and today, we came in as 1st time guests! We were very impressed!!! The staff was super nice, the atmosphere was clean and cozy and the SANDWICHES ????????????????????!!!! 6 out of 5 stars! Delicious! We will definitely be returning customers!
Pictured: 8" Angel Sandwich & 4" Turkey/Pastrami & Swiss Sandwich! Both with a bags of chips & a large Coke to share for only $20 (cash)!
Thank you ladies for the great service!
A little ways of the beaten path, but worth the detour. We visited on a Thursday evening with two and and three kids, ages 13, 12, and 8. This is a unique, rustic shop. While the building seemed old and a bit rundown it seemed clean. We were able to order immediately at the counter and the service was fast and friendly. It was very cold inside and the music was loud. The sandwiches are BIG! Two adults could easily share an eight inch sandwich as they are nearly six inches wide. They were out of barbecue chicken so we ordered a 12” Monterey chicken, an 8” Turkey and cheese and a bowl of chili for $35, which seemed expensive until I saw how big the sandwiches were. The sandwiches were very good, the chili wasn’t great. Definitely better than a chain store and I would return to try some their other specialty sandwiches.
Your sandwiches are amazing! The meat is delicious and the bread the best in town!
Your service… sucks! Waiting 30 minutes for two sandwiches is unacceptable. Only seven sandwiches walked out the door while we waited. And the manager was only concerned about paper in your machine then left without out helping the only two girls that were working. They did apologize for the wait but still had no idea how long it had been then said someone called in sick, even more of a reason for the manager to help out. I am a huge supporter of supporting local but you need to do better!
This place is really good and the staff is great. we have been coming here for a few years.
Today we came in and ordered two 12" sandwiches. The total was $40. The very friend gal at the counter told us it was because turkey prices have gone up and they charge a 4% fee for using a card.
I can take my whole family to Smitty's down the street for less.
I feel for this small business that has to try and make it, and the only way to do it is to put the cost on the consumer. This is going to become more prevalent, and we will see places closing their door because it is no longer profitable with the rising coats from their suppliers.
But at least the 1% are still making record profits! ????????????
Finally stopped in here to try it. Good sandwiches. You pick the length of your sandwich, white or wheat, what meats and toppings, then if you want it hot or cold.
Ordering was easy, and the lady taking orders was on the same side of the counter as customers, so it was really easy to hear and get questions answered.
Although someone was really aggressive with the mustard. Not sure what the secret sauce was supposed to be. Way too much mustard.
Bread was fresh and wide. The entire sandwich was fresh.
After ordering you wait for your name to be called. Then you can add chips, drinks and dessert if wanted when you pay.
Probably the best sandwich I have had in a very long time, if not ever. The bread is delicious and chewy. Prices are great for a local family owned joint. I will happily pay that amount to support local. Will be going back again and again.
Sandwich Tree is a local sandwich hub as the name implies, that being said the experience here was enjoyable as the service was quick, responsive and the food itself was well worth it! The amount of foot traffic this place receives alone attests to the community that supports this restaurant. This is definitely a place that many repeat customers frequent, for good reason, the sandwiches though light are super flavorful and again worth the asking cost. Prices have been adjusted due to increased operational inflation costs, evident in the menu postings, however the value proposition for the size of the sandwiches available is worth it! Parking is limited, however, there is ample street parking near its entrance. Lunch hours are atypically quite busy, so plan for that in advance. Another restaurant to add to the mix in IF!
Tasty sandwiches. However, my experience left high disappointment.
I've been going here since I was little. My husband and I were just passing through, as we don't live in IF, and I wanted some comfort food. Baby was asleep in the car, so I went in first, planning to order my sandwich & then have hubby come in and grab mine & his. The gal that took my order, I'm assuming, was a manager based on the orders being barked to other associates while taking my order. I told her twice, "No onion." I had to tell her twice because she was barking orders, worrying about other associates, instead of focusing on what I said. She acted disgruntled with me when I told her my husband would be in shortly. When I got back to the car, I gave my husband a heads-up that the gal was grumpy. When he returned to the car, he also said she was snapping at employees and giving him attitude.
So, my thoughts after this experience? This manager thinks everyone she works with is an idiot. She also finds it more important to tell everyone what they're doing wrong. She also thinks it's appropriate to berate associates in front of customers. I would also like to add that while she's busy pointing out their flaws, she screwed up! I got onions on my sandwich. My bag she wrote the sandwich details on didn't say no onions! So my point here is to be freaking nice to people! You weren't nice to me, my husband, or your fellow employees! The moral of the story is that we all make mistakes, but NONE of us are stupid. None of us need to be treated like you're so annoyed that we were in your presence today. Me coming in to purchase a sandwich is why you have a job. Working with other people is why you have your job as a manager, I presume. BE NICE! If you are a manager, please tell me you're not the owner, I'm highly disappointed you think it's okay to treat people like that.
