OK, so this place was AWESOME! First of all, they totally made me some great food. (My daughter said to try the meatballs!) You should know that I have multiple food allergies AND this place totally worked with it. They were super kid friendly and had superior ocean views. (My other daughter wanted to make sure that I told you all that Open Mic night was great too! ????‍♀️) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, without complaint from my family, from ages 8 to 69! ????
Travellers, the sand castle lounge is a wonderful restaurant in Plymouth that features Jamaican cuisine along with some New England standards. What is so impressive it that so much of the food is homemade and it tastes like it is. The classic New England fare, like the clam chowder, can hold itself up next to any clam chowder in New England. But it is the Jamaican food that is so delicious. The oxtail in brown gravy or the chicken in brown gravy are amazing. And the rice and beans and Mac and cheese are a great choice for this lovely stew. The servings are generous too. There was a dj playing Jamaican music ad some nights there is live music. There is a fun atmosphere here and you can’t help but sway to the music. Service is with a smile. Check it out. We recommend.
TLDR - excellent food, terrific ambiance
Huge improvement. It appears the lounge was taken over by new people since my last visit and they are doing a wonderful job. Not sure of their names but I believe they are a family from Jamaican.
The hospitality, professionalism and service they provided was truly top notch and they made huge upgrades to the food menu. The entire staff were very polite and friendly while accommodating us anyway they could. Looking forward to visiting again, great spot to sit on the beach and listen to live music.
Delicious authentic Jamaican food. Super friendly, talented, husband & wife bartender and chef team mixed with a beautiful view make this quaint place a hidden ????
What a pleasure dining here first time
Food was excellent. Sharen and Derick
Couldn't have been any more gracious.
So good we came back the next evening ...brought my brother and wife
with us. They loved it.
We stopped here on a whim after seeing a show at Priscilla Beach Theatre honestly b/c it was open late. Don’t be fooled as you walk in. It’s a lounge past the front desk of the Pilgrim Sands hotel so we weren’t sure what to expect but we couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. We order the Jawayan meatball pizza. It was DELICIOUS. This is a family run Jamaican restaurant and the owner Shereen (sp?) could not have been nicer. Great experience, service, and delicious pizza!
Literally some of the best food I've ever eaten in my life. The jerk chicken was flavorful and juicy and tender. The meat literally fell off the bone. The mac and cheese and rice of the day side were perfect compliments to the flavor of the chicken. The plating of is was absolutely perfect and you can tell this is someone who cares about what they are doing. The waitresses were friendly and very attentive, and the bartender is a literal master of her craft, and very personable and friendly. All in all I was very impressed with this place. A real hidden gem of Plymouth and will probally be the difference maker for me in the future next time I go to book a hotel room here.
The food was amazing!! Try the Jamaican jerk meatballs!! The waitress/bartender is so nice, so outgoing and funny. I was waiting by myself for my food and she made me feel like I was sitting with an old friend! The food is amazing everything was perfect! If you happen to be in Plymouth this place is worth the stop. It’s located inside the sands hotel. Also they have live entertainment every night and it’s open to the public. You don’t need a room at the hotel to eat or drink here!! I can’t say enough good about this place it’s my new favorite!!
