I overall had a good experience at finch's. The food was good, the staff was friendly, and the overall ambience was nice. The honey pizza was a big hit with my family so I would definitely recommend that! The portions for the meals were also fairly hardy so expect to be full when you leave. The menu consists of some classic dishes with some unique twists so be prepared to go outside of what you're comfortable with.
The food is good but a bit pricey for quality with the dinner menu. Lunch is a much better menu with a good selection. The atmosphere deserves a five star rating. I would give it a higher rating if the dinner menu had a bit more to it.
Prices for for dinner start at around $16 with an average of $26 per meal. For two people be ready to spend at least $100 for apitizors, drinks, meal and desserts.
The mixed drinks are wonderful and are worth a visit alone.
Overall it is a nice place, but I can not give it 5 stars because I am not in love.
Let me explain:
1) The staff is always very nice, friendly and helpful.
2) The ambiance is pleasant if only slightly drafty. I really like the overall look and feel of the place, it's pretty cozy.
3) The food is however a difficult subject:
The pizzas are very "hit and miss" with some of them being great and some just OK. Often times they are heavy on the salt and the dough is a bit too tough. I am not sure exactly why they are this way, but after having ~4 different pizzas there I now just avoid them.
The steak I had was pretty good and the veggies it came with were nice, however for the price they have to.
Duck salad is pretty good too if you don't eat the strange sunflower seed butter that is smeared on the side.
They do have a very nice beer selection but then again it's $$$.
The mixed drinks are good.
I think that the deserts are always very nice and are beautifully served.
Overall I would say that it's a good restaurant if you are looking for a solid "fancy" restaurant.
The service was fine. The food was pricey for what you get. I had the thin crust pizza which description was a bit misleading. I'll try something different if I ever return there. My husband ordered a pizza which looked pretty good.
There was a large party of at least 12 people, which was so loud our party of four could not carry on a conversation at our table.
I enjoyed the California flatbread. My wife enjoyed the salmon salad. We had dirty martinis and Manhattans, and Tiramisu to end our night. We came in to support this local business and the owners before they close on March 30 and start a new wine adventure downtown. Though pricey, we did enjoy ourselves. The atmosphere was really nice.
Meh. I wanted to like this place when it was Finch's but I thought it was overpriced. Now they have a new name and the same overpriced menu.
I was always told to get the Mac n cheese, but why would I spend >$20 on that? I've had two dinner dishes that just weren't as excellent as what you should expect when you drop close to $30.
The decor is solid 80's and the service was good. My guess is that it's best to come here for lunch or a cocktail instead of dinner. They do have a nice old fashioned, but not enough to lure me back.
The "Classic Burger" was Great! And both bourbon cocktails were expertly made.
Used to be my favorite place until rebranding. Food became very uninteresting and way overpriced for quality. Our pizzas were pretty bad burned...and I was surprised they even served it. They don't mention in menu that spice level changed a lot, so I couldn't eat what I ordered... The drinks and dessert is still good, so two starts. So sad we will have to find another place for our regular lunches...
