just popped in for a couple of pints and a natter while on a work trip - what a lovely warm welcome. Luke and Amy were legends. and those sarnies were just what i needed. hope to get back again in the not too distant ☺️????????
New ownership! And my goodness do they care. Very warm, welcoming. Massively dog and child friendly!! Dog station with treats at the door.
The attention to detail...ladies products in the ladies room has been so valued(never stuck in an emergency)
Open all day everyday...perfect for Mum's on the school run, coffee chat!!
The new owners have polished the floor and it looks wonderful! Quiet nook back with the pool and darts area combined into a cohesive arrangement.
Waiting on chef's before they reopen the kitchen. I know they want to focus on local produce. Can't wait for that!

The location was fine for access to the New Forest and Southampton. The Breakfast was fine, cereal + full english.
It's important to stress that these are rooms over a pub and as such is reflected in the price. Overall the rooms are a bit tired but seem clean. Accordingly, it would be unfair to benchmark our stay at Roebuck room by Hotel or B&B standards, however, we had a few hiccups 2 of which we could live with but one that needs serious attention.
The sink was very blocked and took ages to drain
The loo cistern kept going (just a sticky cistern valve)
But the bed was way beyond its use-by date and several over the mattress springs had failed, I tried turning the mattress to no avail. Very uncomfortable.
We left a note for the owners as maybe nobody has let them know before?
Do bear in mind being a Pub they sometimes have discos on Saturdays but they finish at 11pm.
Nice place ???? to stay for a night ???? or two. It has a vibrant atmosphere with a pub. The people are friendly and welcoming ????
We had a live music ???? ???? experience on the ???? which was again lovely. There are shops around to buy usual groceries. The pub also serves food.
I ordered a "home made" burger (J Burger?) which took a while to arrive, although the pub was relatively empty. First appearances, it looked very nice. I was busy on my phone, inbetween bites & not really concentrating on my food..at some point I looked down & saw the middle of my burger was completely raw (having eaten a fair chunk of 1 half already, which made me feel quite sick)! I left the other half & ate the chips. I was in a rush & didn't have time to "air my views"... it wasn't cheap either, nearly £12 - a total waste of money! I won't be going back..!
Under new management who have turned this place around. I come down every month or so on training and this is a great place to unwind with friends. Sam who works on the bar is a total professional who works hard to get to know everyone - she always remembers a face no matter how long since you last visited making you feel very welcome. Prices are good and the food is what you would expect for a decent pub. Loads of entertainment at weekends. Well done to the whole team!
