My husband and I visited this hotel for a day, and we were impressed. The hotel exudes elegance, and the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. We started our day with a morning yoga class and spent the rest of the day relaxing by the pool. The food was exceptional – full of flavor and freshness; we loved every bite. However, the highlight was undeniably the staff. Their hospitality was outstanding, especially from the hostess, Tara, who truly made our stay memorable. I rarely write reviews, but I was blown away by the level of care we received. If you're seeking a peaceful getaway from the noisy city with breathtaking surroundings and attentive staff, this place is perfect for you. We're already planning to make it our go-to spot for the summer.
I went for a spa day on MDW, you get pool access prior to your treatment and the staff was not prepared. To keep this brief, there were cleanliness issues with the pool “cabana” and water cups and pitchers. The spa itself is very nice and the staff was very accommodating. Treatment was done well and it was overall a relaxing experience. My guess is that the hotel/restaurant/pool staff is new and young as summer/seasonal workers tend to be. I’m sure later into the summer things will be smoother but I definitely recommend the spa if you’re in the area.
I hosted a graduation party for my daughter at the Rockaway Hotel and it was fantastic!
The atmosphere was elegant, but relaxed and comfortable.
The staff was welcoming and accommodating. We had several guests with dietary restrictions and they handled them with no problem at all.

The hotel is clean and clearly a lot of thought went into the style and activities. We came mid week and really enjoyed the relaxing pool, bar and restaurant (Margie’s). We had luck with the weather, which probably played a large part because there isn’t much to do in Rockaway outside of the pool and the beach. Despite the price which felt high for a hotel in rockaway, the cleanliness and convenience coming from the city made it worthwhile. We had an unfortunate experience with the reception and when we called to ask about it the initial service wasn’t very helpful, but we received a call from a manager afterwords and they corrected it, so updated to 4 stars and would likely go back.
Love the design but rooms have no closets or workspace. Very small footprint for the cost. ||There’s also no sound insulation. You hear everything going on in the hallway. ||Restaurant was super cute but the food was mediocre for the prices. Overall a great stay but could use more attention to detail.
The room is extremely small . Amenities are lacking, and there is a lot of road noise and constant noise from the music venues downstairs. I am sleeping with noise canceling ear plugs and I still can't drown out the noise. Pools and poolside cafe are very good with exceptional management and employees. The attached coffee shop is poor. The front desk is professional and well trained.
FABULOUS hotel! FABULOUS, helpful, kind, amazing staff in Margo, Emily and Alina. We spent 6 months planning a family event. We had 29 rooms at the location. From start to finish, I would give the entire hotel an A+. The ambience, the friendliness, the facilities. The freezing weather of 40 degrees in MAY did not deter them; they lit an amazing warm and wonderful fire in the fireplace! I can't say enough wonderful things about the Rockaway Hotel. It "rocks" on every level!
We came in the second week in May for a 3 day corporate retreat where in which the Rockaway Hotel could not have been better to us all. Anything we needed they tried to accommodate and really made out people feel special. I would come back this summer for sure!
