Best KPortal Reviews
I googled this place and the lamb chops caught my eye…. I live 2 hours away and would return in a heartbeat. The Owner and waitress was awesome. They have something special going on there. Very nice and clean; beautiful ambiance. The chef even came out and spoke to us. The food was seasoned to my liking and cooked to perfection. The only con I have is the drinks were a tad bit overpriced honestly; but I will return and spread the work. Perfect music for an awesome vibe.
Hubby and I decided to go out on a much needed date and chose this place after a friend recommended it. Our server Candy was very attentive. The food was delicious and fresh with plenty of flavor and the drinks were strong. The atmosphere was very laid back, chill, & jazzy and the lighting was low adding to the environment. We were told they have a live band on Wednesday nights that plays R&B and old school. Will definitely be recommending this place to others.
1st time experience for carry out. Waited about 35 minutes for somebody to take my order. Walked around the bar trying to see who would take my order and was told by the manager to go take a seat at the front And someone would come and take my order.. 20 minutes later young lady said is this your order. I reply was I have not ordered yet. OR experience 1 through 10.. it is about 5. Now my food was great!!!! He liked the lamb chops and the fried lobster and the macaroni. Now I will come back and give them a second chance change because I support local businesses. But I do want the manager to improve on carry outs on carry outs that way they can increase is business.
We got there around 4:00 pm on a Sunday. They were playing really good music but it was too loud to have casual conversation if you wanted to; so we basically had to yell. We had a nice server at first but I guess it was shift change and the second serve was nice but not attentive. Only thing I would say is that the menu is a little pricey. The drinks were good (we had the woodford reserve drinks, can’t remember the name). We had the Philly cheese steak egg rolls and crab fingers for an appetizer, which were both really good. The shrimp tacos were good. The lobster Mac and cheese was good but more cheese than noodles. The fried lobster on top was really good. Before we got our food, the live band was set up and started to play. We really enjoyed the live music, it was fun and people started dancing on the dance floor. Overall, it was a nice experience & the food was good.
The place is great. The rating is based on an advertisement on Instagram that said they had all you can eat crab legs on Wednesday's but we arrived to find that the promotion had not started yet, but did not have a date of start on the flyer. The service was decent but when I didn't tip enough to their standards the manager came to my table to ask why and when I stated the drinks were watered down and the service was ok he responds that it works for his other 12 restaurants. Other than that it was cool. I will give them a 2nd chance to see if things are different in the future.
I got the chicken and waffles. It was okay. The chicken was good and seasoned well but the waffles were really bland. The drinks I had were the morning after and a mimosa called southern belle. The morning after was good but not strong or no liquor to taste at all and the southern Belle taste like water down orange juice. The waitress was nice but due to only having 2 servers, service was really slow. The environment is nice but very over priced for what you get. I paid $53 for 4 strips of chicken and 1 drink because I couldn't substitute our send anything back
The WORST service in the world! The only good thing about this place was the waitress. Amber was soooo sweet and apologetic about the shorty service received from both the kitchen and bar!
For starters… we had a reservation for 7:30p. The waitress took our drink and food order around 7:50p… we didn’t receive our drinks until 8:55p and the food after that. My order was not correct. I ordered the lamb chops ($32) with mashed potatoes and broccoli, received mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. Amber apologized about that!! People who sat down after us received their food before us and left. FYI: it was only 4 of us!! We requested to speak with a manager. One of the owners (light skinned guy) who was also the cook, walked by, I made eye contact with him and he sent the hostess to our table to assist us… why I don’t know. Then the other owner came over and apologized for the service but they were experiencing a rush (see pictures). He tried to make it better the best way he could. The service from the kitchen and bar SUCKS! I would not waste my time or money!! The food was ok. Maybe brunch is better. The only reason I gave ONE STAR is because of the nice waitress Amber and the poor manager/owner who tried to make it right.
I’ve been here a few times for lunch but this review is strictly on my last visit which was on 1/13/23 for dinner. I saw a few different versions of the menu online so I called that morning to get the correct version that would be offered at dinner since we had a group with some dietary restrictions. I called before opening time and the call was forwarded to a cell phone. The person who answered (the owner maybe) was very kind and sent me the menu via text.
We had a party of 7 (including 2 children under 5) and arrived approximately 6:30pm. There was a short wait before being seated. The first thing I’d like to point out is that although children are welcome here, there is no special seating for them (high chair, boaster).
The second thing I noticed is that although the restaurant was not very busy at first, the waitress was still a little slow. I believe this was due to her being the only one at the time. This establishment is not huge but should definitely have more help on a Friday night.
The food took a while to come out, even my daughters wings that we saw sitting on the shelf. Again, the waitress clearly needed some backup because now there was a large patty behind us celebrating a birthday. I ordered a pizza for my 4 year old son, the seafood platter for myself, and wings (hot bbq & lemon pepper) for my tween. I didn’t taste the pizza but the others enjoyed it. My aunti had the salmon sliders which were good. The lemon pepper wings were OK but those hot bbq were delicious. My entire seafood platter was good AF… everything was perfectly seasoned/cooked and hot.
When it was time to get the check we had to wait a while because now the place was busy. Even receiving the to-go boxes took too long for them to be 20 feet from where we were sitting.
Overall the experience was a good one and I’ll definitely be back.
