I travelled up from kent and spent a couple days in one of the villages around alton towers for my daughters birthday, if you're staying outside the theme park hotels or just looking to get away from it all... I 100% recommend the red lion! The food is next level (better than anything you'll get in any of the theme park restaurants) and the hospitality made us feel like we were locals as soon as we walked through the door. We'll definitely be stopping back in whenever we're in the area.
Came from Bristol to alton towers, & needed to get the family some food. So glad stumbled across pub. Real home cooked food with proper portions.

4 drinks and a shot was just shy of 23 quid same round of voddy and coke 2 pints and a smirnoff ice was just shy of 19 quid.
