The service was wonderful. Everything tasted great. I love how the place is decorated— so cute! It's close to the beach and the store. I'll definitely come back when I'm in Tahoe again.
Very nice little place in south Tahoe for breakfast. I went with the usual (I think this is what it was called). Two eggs over easy, that I added a little hot sauce to, just absolutely perfect hash browns and biscuits and gravy. We also added jalapeno bacon for the table as it sounded really good. I was a big fan, particularly of mixing a bit of everything into each bite. If you're on the way in, or out or just want an amazing breakfast be sure to stop by this place. They also have a cool selection of merch and the service was fantastic. All around a good experience.
Love this place. Came to The Red Hut Cafe for breakfast last time I was in South Lake Tahoe and happily returned on this trip. I've had three meals here and all of them were fabulous. On the bonus, the coffee shop that is adjoining is tasty too! They have an excellent peppermint mocha and for the non coffee drinker, the peppermint hot chocolate is delicious too! I've had the oatmeal, the traditional breakfast, and my friend had the pancakes. All our of dishes were very good. The greeter was friendly and conversational which was enjoyable. Our server was consistently nice and quick. Worth the visit.
Quaint little cafe/diner close to the harbor. I ordered their pumpkin pancakes as a breakfast combo and they were fluffy and delicious! Food was hot and came out fast. Service was extremely friendly!
If you are looking for a really good dinner style cozy place to have breakfast this is the spot. Honestly overall some of the best food we had in South Lake Tahoe over this last weekend for our honeymoon. We had a few other not so great experiences and the fact that this quaint little diner be out some of the bigger food experiences is saying a lot. The staff is friendly the atmosphere is cozy and has a cute ski aesthetic inside. Seriously can't say enough about how good the food was packed with flavor and phenomenal if you happen to be going up this fall or into the winter if they still have their pumpkin waffles on the menu you have to get it it was huge and so good. Their other breakfast tables are great eggs or perfectly they're hash browns are just crispy enough and the sausage is amazing. We will not be going anywhere else for breakfast when we go into town in South Lake anymore.
We've always wanted to try this place every time we are in Tahoe but, the wait is usually really long. Today we were fortunate that the wait was only 35-40min. The food was amazing. The pancakes are spectacular and very fluffy. Would definitely come back again.
Visited on a Monday morning. The hostess had an attitude going; definitely not the kind of person I'd put at the front of my restaurant.
Fortunately, it was uphill from there. Our server was attentive and he made sure we had what we needed. Food was good, portions were generous, and the kitchen accommodated a request we had. Restaurant is large, clean, and has a fun ambiance.
Taser Twolittle needed a ride up to South Shore so he could make good with his business associate Cleaster Calmwater, they own the Heap Big Trading Post just outside the reservation, so I volunteered. It seems Taser left Cleaster in the dark about a transaction that netted the company a years worth of revenue, I didn't need to know anymore so I told alls fine as long as we eat at The Red Hut Cafe! They're about the best place for real homemade food in the area. Every thing on the menu is worthy of a two hour drive.
