Alright so I ended up really liking this place but I originally went on a Friday night around 8 pm for dinner.
Little did I know that this was like a club vibe and the dining room was closed.
It ended up being a great night with great music and drinks.
The food was mid but it wasn’t the actual dining room food so I’m not sure if it was actually representative.
I thought it was strange that they closed the dining room so early (8pm) but overall it was a good experience.
Great place for dinner! The food was awesome! I had a sausage plate with these mixed beans that were killer. Slow cooked, super flavor, perfect. The three different sausages were also very good! Good selection of beers, up to 32 Oz. Good service, all in all a great place. I would recommend it to everyone.
Just excellent. The food was delicious and everything I wanted it to be after being without German food for so long! I especially loved the red cabbage, weird choice I know. Our waitress has worked there for 28 years and it shows. She runs everything seamlessly from start to finish, while engaging GENUINELY with her customers. Absolutely fantastic. We live in Louisville and will definitely be back just for this place.
My boyfriend and I loved this place!! Super fancy walking in. One entire room is set up for wedding receptions. Very German feel for the atmosphere. We got the sampler platter, and the food was delicious. My blue Hawaiian drink was frothy and amazing. The wait staff were top tier. I’ll attach pictures for reference. Would highly recommend! :)
German roots and scenes all over the place. Very rustic and excellent service . Amy is wonderful and helped us to understand german food and choices .

The mustard is strong as warned by our server, the roast beef is delicious, potato salad is nothing like i had before. Great experience.
The waitresses were very busy but they were not busy to ignore me and was able to be seated pretty fast! I highly recommend the Ruben great sandwich! I wanted a big mug for my beer but they was out of mugs due to high volume but I got a nice dark beer in a big plastic cup...
The Rasthskeller, a German-style restaurant, with a traditional German menu, where Jennifer, the charming and very polite waitress of German origin, has been serving customers in the best possible way for almost 3 decades. We spent a wonderful lunch with the family with very delicious food. I advise you to try 2-3 types of Schnitzel preparation and a variety of beers, also German. Whenever I'm in Indiana, I'll stop in for a meal and definitely a German beer.
Love the atmosphere and the food. If you don't mind paying for parking, there is a parking garage right next to it. My only criticism is that it's loud and I couldn't hear my boyfriend talk very well.
