Good old fashioned Devon pub with great home cooked food and welcoming service and bar.
Well worth a visit.

Fantastic place, I grew up in Devon and one of the things I miss most is the pubs. This place with its friendly service and warm hum of laughter and local ales is the definition of a good Devon pub. Way above average food for this kind of place as well, delicious.
Friendly landlord who is keen to discuss the history of the pub, if you ask him about it. Lots of interesting photos. Great food & a fantastic range of cask ales. They only accept cash though, so please check before purchasing anything.
Always a good meal, Steak is cooked to your liking.

Great welcome friendly landlord and staff. Food was fabulous and good value. Super cask ale. One point to note when we were there (May 2023) it was cash only - no cards, so check if likely to be a problem.
Loved this place, really friendly landlord and locals. Have been on 2 occasions during our weekend away. Stopped in for a pint on the first day, and returned for dinner the next day. Excellent food as well!
Had dinner here last night with friends and we'll definitely go back. Food was great, service was friendly and attentive and most of all it was busy with a fabulous atmosphere. Thank you The Railway, great job.
