Lovely traditional pub in an idyllic country location. Wood fires, real ales and good food. South facing sunny patio.
Update 18 March 23 Taken over in the last few weeks and now a lower priced menu which will hopefully bring in the trade. Still a great location and good beer.
We had an amazing meal here - absolutely delicious, great menu choices - especially with some great vegan options - and very good service. It was a meal to remember!
We had our team Christmas lunch today. The food and service were second to none! Freshly prepared and presented fabulously! Highly recommend

Very friendly atmosphere and the food was very good as was the service. Next time we will have an evening meal out. Spacious car parking.
Friendly country pub in a lovely village. Great outdoors area for the summer. Good beer and gin. Will have to return for the food
Overpriced (food & drinks), long wait, small portions (of what food they hadn’t actually ran out of) & very loud - all considering the pub was half empty. Wouldn’t recommend & won’t return.
Table for 2 booked for Sunday lunch (roast), took a while for our food order to be taken, order 2x chicken roasts and asked for no veg besides peas on one (all fine), asked for the of pigs in blankets side listed on the menu (told they had ran out - ok…).
Once ordered we were told 5mins later that they only had 1x chicken left and we’d both ordered chicken so one of us had to change - annoying but fine, but not great to run out of chicken during a Sunday lunch time.
It was then nearly 1hr after we arrived before we chased up our order and the server asked us if we would like him to find out how long our food would be (we obviously said yes!), another server then came to us a few moments later and said our food would be a few more minutes - seemed like they’d forgotten our order.
Eventually our food came, and the one that had already had the meat changed, had the wrong veg order at which point we were told they didn’t do peas even though we’d ordered them (1hr before!).
All in all, if it wasn’t for the fact the food we actually got served was decent, although very small portion and extremely overpriced at that, we would’ve walked out. We had intended to have dessert too but didn’t want to wait another 1hr so paid and left and won’t return.
The rib eye steak with the chimichurri was outstanding, service excellent.
