Best KPortal Reviews
I visited the port a couple of days after they opened for the summer.
Our server Kai was excellent as far as being familiar with the menu items and providing very efficient service. You can tell she was a professional and she had a nice sense of humor. The fish tacos were delicious but the ribs were absolutely to die for and served with the best cornbread you will ever eat!! Background music was good and the wine was nice and chilled. Definitely recommend ????
We were not so thrilled when we first got there as the place only employed a handful of teens. However we were pleasantly surprised by how professional they were. We were able to have the special oyster at $1 a piece and they tasted good. The cocktails were absolutely well made and delicious. Overall we had a great time. Everything came out to our liking and more. Our waitress was very nice, diligent and efficient. We will visit again soon.
Amazing place! I don’t regret walking into there. To start, it was so easy to get into, and the service was so fast! Also the food was delectable. I got the Summer Salad which was the perfect combo of sweet and savory, the truffle fries which had the best truffle I’ve tasted, my lemonade had the perfect amount of tanginess, and last but not least the fried Oreos, they were so filling and creamy, I wasn’t expecting what I got when they delivered the Oreos to me. They looked like an ice cream sundae but Oreo style. The atmosphere is quite comfortable with easy access to the door, and nice, fun background music and cool photos! I would give The Port a 4/5.
It used to be a decent option, but management has now added a 4% “Toast Admin fee” which isn’t cheap based on the food and drink prices. When I asked management what it was, they shared “Convenience fees…are a common practice and one The Port and many restaurants and other merchants have adopted.” Try the tacos next door at Perks - there is no junk fee there.
Oysters were cold and delicious, we sat at the bar where Henry was very attentive. Good wine by the glass list. Rib eye special was tasty and the swordfish fresh. Overall excellent. For dessert I would get the banana foster, looks good from afar however the fried oreos were amazing with ice cream.
I regret that I feel compelled to leave such a bad review because I have been going to The Port for nearly 20 years but the 4% Toast administrative fee and the smug, confrontational manner in which management responded to our dissatisfaction with this junk fee leaves me no choice. The Port and Ember are no longer the only options in Harwichport but management doesn’t seem to realize this yet. You will do well to pass these places by when you’re in town.
Service was nice, our waitress was kind and welcoming. If there are no other restaurants available for quick seating then I understand going here but otherwise would recommend going elsewhere to get your moneys worth. The wagyu hamburger was $25 could get something better tasting elsewhere for that amount, the fries seemed like they were frozen from a bag you’d get at target. Tacos were alright pretty standard nothing that would warrant a $24 price tag. Would recommend their cocktails rather than bottled or canned drinks. A high noon was $10 lol
They charged a 4% “Toast Admin” garbage fee for nothing additionally, which amounted to $27 after our family dinner on Memorial Day weekend. What's next, paying for their electricity bill? This is ridiculous and completely ruined the experience. I won't be going back.
