Went out for lunch at The Plough Inn for my grandma's birthday. We were the only table being served in there for lunch, and it was during the week.
The atmosphere was ok - but would have been different if more people were there for lunch.
I ordered the Lemon Crispy Chicken with Chips and Salad. The food overall was great (if not too large a portion) and it is somewhere we will come to again. I also had a dessert - the Wistanstow Mess - Meringue with Forest Fruits and Cream - was not too keen on the cream.
Great beer, plenty of parking good disabled access and parking. Tables outside with brollies and also a covered area. We didn't eat as it was a flying visit however, the food and looked and smelled excellent. We will be back!
Had the Sunday roast beef dinner really nice plenty of it and hot. Good service.
Food is amazing and portions are huge.
Thoroughly enjoyed.
You must try the food here.
Excellent Food, very friendly staff, warm interior. Very child friendly, they will try and accommodate any child food requests. You will not be disappointed.
Good food, great service with a lovely setting and also superb beer.! ????????
Excellent food and service. The steak and the blue cheese sauce were the best I have eaten in a long time. Returned for a Sunday lunch and once again meat cooked to perfection, fresh vegetables, and other trimmings. The sticky toffee pudding was so light and the butterscotch sauce complimented it beautifully. Good service, friendly staff and value for money. Thank you!
Really good food, and excellent service. Bit out of the way but well worth the trip. One of the best steak and ale "pies" I've ever had, the slow cooked beef was so tender it fell apart with a fork and the ale gravy was one of the best I've had. Will definitely visit again if I'm ever in the area again
