Advancement with technology is great in the outside world, but handheld menus really are necessary. Struggles with service to load menu, links don't work properly, and for those who have a hard time reading small lettering on the phones (My mother), it's not easy to navigate. Music was beyond obnoxiously loud. We asked to be seated outside instead, chairs were beyond uncomfortable but it was the price to pay to escape the annoyingly loud music inside.
Atmosphere was okay. Our waitress was Ariana and she was phenomenal. She had a lot going on and others brought our food to the table and those who rushed food for her were not friendly by any means. Drinks came after food, disorganized arrival of foods. Dish by dish, not as a whole delivered collectively. One person's meal arrives, two minutes later another, five minutes another, not at all cohesive in order to all enjoy a meal together without food getting cold or gross. The food was okay, nothing to brag about. Cute to look at and photograph but that's about it. Caramel Apple pancakes were great but maybe as a "dessert," not as a meal. Drinks don't look like the photos that their digital menu provides. All workers who rushed food for Ariana seemed annoyed to be there, zero customer service skills. Ariana was the SWEETEST, girlfriend needs a raise! She is the ONLY reason why we liked this experience. Very attentitive and accommodating. She earned a $30 tip. Food was pricey and not all up to the standard of the hype but she made the experience worth it as we were there celebrating for a birthday brunch (4 of us).
Would not come again, but thank you Ariana for your kindness, and amazing customer service skills! Keep it up! Without her, this would've been a 1 star rating.
Came today for the first time to celebrate my friends birthday and it was absolutely amazing!
The food was great, the drinks were well made, the ambiance was chill/fun, and service from our server Quiesy was fantastic. She definitely went above and beyond and took great care of us.
Definitely would recommend for anyone looking for a good time and great experience!
Love this place! I love the way they present their food and drinks - very pretty and aesthetic especially the duck on their matcha drinks. Staff was also friendly and highly attentive. Service was quick as well! Great place to come with friends as well :)
Came here for my daughters 21st birthday! This place did NOT disappoint. The staff, service, food, and drinks were amazing! They went out of their way to make sure her 21st was special! Very talented behind the bar at making drinks! Shout out to Marquis and Quiesy for their amazing service! I would 10 out of 10 reccomend!
Servers were excellent! Kind, attentive, and overall great at their jobs. They informed us that there have been several new hires since opening & that’s why it’s better. Food and drinks were delicious and fairly priced. Atmosphere was 10/10. My friends and I were there right before Christmas and we had the best time. We will definitely be returning!
Fiancé and I were in the city and decided to stop by for a quick lunch/brunch and were not disappointed! I was nervous because I had the exact opposite experience at the West Hartford location a few years back, but I wanted to give it another shot at another location because I love the vibe. Hostess greeted us right away and was very kind. Restaurant was beautiful, we sat on the upper floor and enjoyed the view of the huge tree in the middle of the room. Our server was Q and she was wonderful; funny and attentive! earlier they were having issues with the soda machine and my fiancés Pepsi was flat but she was quick to make it right, right away. Fiancé loved the bottomless mimosas and was given the option to try all the different flavors. Food was delicious and beautifully plated. I ordered the Cobb Salad and he got the fruity pebbles French toast, and (not pictured) French fries, scrambled eggs and bacon. The only one complaint I’d have is that the upstairs bathroom needed a bit of love and attention but honestly it wasn’t that big of a deal to me.. it’s a busy restaurant with not enough hands to take care of it right away, life happens. Overall we were super happy with our visit and I’m surprised at all the negative reviews. If we’re ever back in the area we’l definitely stop back in, Thank you for a wonderful experience!
The drinks and food here are amazing. Make reservations unless you want to sit at the bar which is a good spot anyways but if u have a big party reservations are better. Definitely a place to celebrate a birthday or Bachelorette party. Food was great, service was excellent, the atmosphere was everything.
The Place 2 Be is not a good option for brunch in New Haven.
Its chairs are uncomfortable, creating weird pressure points in your tights.
The food takes forever. We ordered an avocado toast and a omelette and we waited more than 30 minutes for it. Their fries came with very little salt and there was no salt at the table for us to salt them ourselves.
The cocktails are well prepared and the barmaids are very polite and helpful. But it is not enough to compensate for the other issues.
