Stopped by for a breakfast with my friends form the Motoring Club. The Place has a good selection of beers and if you like typical American food made with love you’ll like it there. There’s enough parking in the area and it’s also very different from typical California or it’s gonna be different for you if you come here from LA. Interesting experience and l love it about America.

A true serendipity! Driving fast on route 166, two gorgeous winter skies, in search of a bite to eat, along comes The Place. It was empty of other customers but Alec the owner and his wife treated me like royalty. There was a snug fire in the fireplace the sun was brilliant outside and the skies were blue. The burger was huge and delicious, the fries crunchy and hot, the coffee bottomless, and the cookie perfect to top it off. If you're driving this highway you have to stop at The Place.

The service was excellent, the menu had good options and the food was perfectly cooked. A nice little spot to stop by if you're traveling in the area and need some good home-style cooking.

If you are traveling up Route 33, The Place is something to be experienced. Simply put, it is a good local place run by nice people. One of those places that just has alot of character and should be enjoyed. It simply is what it is, like the area in which it is located.

I remember coming here a few times in my life loving it. Driving all the way from Taft, CA to have lunch here, I think it's well worth it. Even with a change in staffing/ownership between visits I've seen the best standards for service and effort in the food, and they offer a good variety.

In the middle of nowhere is this great diner with really good food, service and PIE!!! Terrific pie! The ride there through the Cuyumas Valley on RT33 or via Rt166 is another reason to get to The Place. Scenery along the way is wonderful, especially the mountains of the Los Padres park lands. No matter how you get there stop by The Place, especially for the pie!

Outstanding place to get a bite to eat after a nice canyon drive which is pretty much the only way to get there I suggest getting the buffalo burger it's a very good burger

best pies (home made) within 50miles! staff is super happy and lovely! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
