Friendly, but the food was cooked poorly. Young people staffed, no fault of their own. Lack of training to a standard. Pizza needs cooked so the undercarriage is crisp
Overall, Pizza Shack is a great place alternative you're tired of chain pizza joints. They're quick, consistent and affordable. Ingredients are quality, and their sauce is very good. What is not good is their oven is not hot enough. I consistently get doughy, wimpy looking bread sticks that would be fantastic if cooked longer/hotter. Their pizza isn't as bad, but doesn't have a firm bottom to be expected for their style of pizza.
I've been to this place twice. The first time, we had gotten a meat lovers pizza. It was OK but had a lot of grease.
The 2nd time we went for the pizza buffet. The dough balls (both types) were amazing. The BLT pizza was pretty good. The other kind I tried ham, mushroom and red onion. It had way less grease and a lot of cheese.
I'd probably like it more if the pizza and cheese bread wasn't thin crust.
This place is pretty awesome... I could say alot of negative but it's new to the area and I think that's 90% of the issue as far as working out the kinks regarding their service. You can skip all of those issues and go enjoy their buffet Wednesdays.
For the buffet option alone, this place gets my 5 stars. Short of the Franklin Inn this is the only other buffet in the area and that's where they hit us in the feels. I bring my family of 8, we get all we can eat, and it doesn't break the bank for a night out.
The owner is also receptive on social media, asking what pizzas should be on the buffet next week. Great business model, excellent food, they just need time to grow into their skin so to speak.
we got a 4 meat pizza was pretty good the crust didn't have much flavor we got cheese crust i think they just sprinkled parmason cheese on it the sauce was so salty i could barely finish it the tiramisu was pretty good
They either need to hire more people or place the drink dispenser in the main area so customers can help themselves.
The owner is a nice guy, but maybe not wear dirty clothing from his 2nd job where customers can see and wash up before coming in. No one wants a person with grease & dirt all over them in the food prep area.
Good food but if your eating inside don't expect much for service. If you need something such as a refill you have to ask or even walk up to the counter to get one. Almost no table side service after order is brought to you.
Gave another shot as they have been open a while now and dined Wednesday night for the buffet. It was absolutely delicious. First off starts at 5pm until closing I think maybe 8pm for $9.99. Kids up to 5-6 eat free then reduced after that. They aren't slim on any ingredients on the pizza and they keep everything hot and coming out. They had Hawaiian pizza, pepperoni, onion and bacon maybe not sure and pepperoni and cheese. They also have cheese bread, dough balls and cinnamon dough balls. Again, they were full but you did not have to wait for any food and it was hot and fresh. They also have many soufflé cups with marinara, ranch, icing, cheese again -take what you need. The buffet also includes beverage which they have coke products. The place was clean and they kept the tables bussed, wiped off, plates, napkins, condiments and buffet all filled. Wasnt loud , nice seating (Tables) and lots of windows all around. Young staff and all very nice. Will be going back for sure.
