Best KPortal Reviews

We randomly found this place because there was traffic on the freeway and it did not disappoint! We tried their breakfast and lunch and both were good.
The breakfast sandwiches on a biscuit are soooo good!
The lunch barbecue plates come with plenty of food! The barbecue could use a smidge more of seasoning but it wasn’t bad!
Overall great people and good food.
Absolutely incredible experience this family operated barbecue joint, is the epitome of southern hospitality. They watched out for my well-being as well I walked in with a Texas longhorns T-shirt and the family worried about my safety so they gave me another shirt to switch out with it. The son Chris and his father truly have a passion for staying true to southern-style barbecue, The girls at the counter we're very friendly and courteous. There was a line out the door of locals that I chatted with and they told me that this was their favorite barbecue spot, the line didn't the stand still for long as they were quite quick getting food out. I'm not sure what else to say, the warm apple pies they served where an absolute treat the meal was excellent, prices are beyond fair.... the passion in their food shines......best put this family takes their barbecue as seriously as the state of Alabama takes football.
In an attempt to find the best BBQ in Birmingham, I tried The Pit today and was very optimistic given the positive reviews. We ordered 2 large beef sandwiches and 1lb riblets. The riblets were good but the beef sandwiches were completely inedible. Both sandwiches had the most rubbery, hard beef I've ever had. The meat ripped out of the sandwich when you tried to unsuccessfully bite it. Then, when I tried to eat the meat like a strip of jerkey in my hand, I still could barely gnaw through it. I'd actually go as far as to say the beef sandwich was the worst BBQ I've ever had. The drive was not worth it and I don't plan on ever going back. Extremely disappointing.
Excellent barbecue delicious taste down home cooking I love it. Absolutely great for breakfast. A rib sandwich down to anything that you can think of for pulled to park barbecue love it they close early so you have to come in early and you have to take it to go or you can call it in wonderful place.
I highly recommend you make a stop and try the food. Small building, they have a drive thru, or you can order inside. I have been eating here off and on for many years.
Best Breakfast Sandwiches, plates, omelets as well as the BEST PORK, BEEF CHICKEN BBQ in Birmingham. This family owned business has been here 30 years. It was great then in is great now. Wonderful burgers too. Not a loser on the extensive menu and I've had it all in 30 years. It is nice to see this Christian owned and operated business serve such a large group of blue and white color workers with constant smiles and good conversation. Swearing and cursing is not tolerated here. This is a customer patrolled issue andvthere is always a lobby full to help cussers out.
The guys there work really hard. The ladies take care of their flock of hungry lambs. They have grown up there.
It's 40 miles each way for me to get there. Every time I'm near downtown I have to stop.
My favorite breakfast is a huge ham, egg and cheese with mayo and pickles on a grilled bun and an egg and cheese on a bun with mayo and pickle. Don't get both unless you are really hungry, you'll hurt yourself.
For lunch I like the regular BBQ plate with pork or beef or both with beans and fries with BBQ sauce on the fries. The large plate is good if my wife is with me. We will split a large plate with extra beans, fries and apple pies.
The lines are long but the wait is just a few minutes. There is no inside dining. There is a large park just a few blocks east.
I love the food here!! This review is not about the food, it’s ONLY about the long wait time! I ordered my one breakfast sandwich at 7:20am and I didn’t get my food until 7:59!! That is completely unacceptable..
Love the sausage, egg and cheese on toasted bun! Great service!
