we planned our holiday route so we stopped here as it's sort of half way, had toilets and we had prepared a picnic. The road at this spot is incredibly bad (as it was 3 years ago). We parked up and went off to the loo (as did all the other travellers) and lo and behold - they were locked. Therefore the men and children were using anywhere possible. Not the healthiest nor the most pleasant option and not an option for the ladies. Obviously the picnic bar itself was closed too
Often stopped here toilets basic & often in need of a clean but . Stopped on 10/8 Family said the mens was awful and very smelly, the picnic bar is under new ownership. Service was very slow, food not great. Normally ok to stop for a picnic but grass overgrown. Definitely worse than before.
The picnic bar was closed in the mid morning. No great loss as we were really keen to use the toilets rather than food.
Please whatever you do avoid the toilets here... They are disgusting in everyway. If they get cleaned at all it must be a rarity as everything was filthy. Urine on the floor. Excrement on the walls. The stench was off the charts. You get the picture. Avoid.
If these are council maintained then they should be ashamed.
