Waited 30 min for churros only to learn that they not ready, while restaurant was empty, when asked for refund stuff member told me she can’t do it she went to speak to manager who just walked away without the word only to come back in 5 min later and tell me that they can refund cash (paid with American Express) AVOID AT ALL COST

AVOID
Fantastic spot for a drink or two whilst the kids play safely on the pier nearby. Very friendly service. Food was very good - steak sandwich and club sandwich, good portions and freshly cooked. Quite pricey drinks (£5 a San Miguel) but worth it due to the location and overall experience.
Very sloooow service. Had Sunday breakfast outside. Good reasonably priced food. Only problem we had to wait 40 minutes for our order of full English and a bacon and egg bap. Wasn’t busy and plenty of staff working so why the wait? They were probably the most popular items off the breakfast menu so should be very quick and easy to prepare and serve. The wait was so long we’d long finished our tea and were ready to ask for our money back when it finally arrived.
After ordering a kids pasta, salad and a panini with a coffee, we sat down and waited 25 minutes... I asked for an update and the coffee still hadn't arrived. The staff went away and didn't come back with an answer!
After going to the counter to get an update on the food and coffee I was told the didn't have pasta and were waiting for a delivery... None of this was said to me at the point of ordering and the staff seemed clueless as to what was going on.
The manager was less than helpful and after telling me it'd be a further 20 minutes didn't even know the price of chips when sorting a refund.... Awful service, no communication skills, no apology and was still charged for the cold drinks for the privilege. The place wasn't even busy!
NOT RECOMMENDED and a very short walk later to a lovely little gem across the road called Mungos which was friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent.
This could be a gold mine located on the pier but not with this level of service and lack of ability as a restaurant.
Very disappointing. Soup was served lukewarm. Was reheated but average on flavour. South coast cod, chips and mushy peas was adequately hot, but chips were the worst I've had in Hastings (looked liked they'd been hanging about for a long long time) - I couldn't eat half of them. Batter was soggy. Serving of mushy peas was miniscule. The tartar sauce was nice as was the green tea. Lots of staff, all very uninterested in the service they were providing. I won't be going back, there are a plethora of infinitely better eating establishments in Hastings.
Great location but disappointing otherwise . Went for morning coffee and cake. Only cakes available were cup cakes, nothing else, no Victoria Sponge, coffee or fruit cakes, not a scone in sight, fruit or cheese, just ultra sweet over decorated cup cakes. So ended up with pre packed biscuits, not what we had imagined we have on the Pier! Also waited fifteen minutes for the coffee to arrive and served without a smile. Would not recommend a visit, head for the Old Town where there is fabulous choice of coffee shops selling a great variety of homemade cakes. Come on Hastings Pier, get this sorted, you're missing a great opportunity.
Not good by any stretch. The date on the sandwich had two days left on it. It should have been binned the day before I bought it. Only bought the wrapped up version because at 1:30 on a Thursday lunch they couldn't make the sandwiches on the menu. One of us had fish and chips that look and taste dreadful. Lots of great places to eat in Hastings, this isn't it. Shame because the view is great.
