This is my fathers favorite place to go when we are up north. The ice cream is defiantly creamier than at other ice cream shops. He talks about the Michigan Black Cherry Ice cream all year and always asks when they will be open, as it is seasonal. All and all it is a must stop if you find yourself near Rogers City. The owner and staff are very personable and will take the time to chat if they are not overly busy. The view of the lake and the park are incredible. Feels like you are in a 1950s movie.
Visited Rogers City and stopped by the pavilion grill and absolutely loved the food. Got fries with chili and cheese, hotdog with chili and cheese and some ice cream and they all tasted delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely view as well right next to the lake.
The blackberry dark chocolate ice cream was the best ice cream I've ever had in my life. Makes me sad that I live 4 hours away ????
We got lunch there as we were riding our bikes. I had the chili cheese hot dog, and my wife had a regular hot dog. We didn't realize they came with potato chips, so as a side, we ordered chips and nacho cheese. They had a wider variety than I would have expected for this type of establishment. The crew was very friendly, and the service was prompt. It was in the park over looking Lake Huron, so a great view. To top it off, we had a sunny day.
It's a little pricey for the relatively small portions you get. $7.99 for 5 cream cheese Jalapeno Poppers. I believe also was $7.99 for one Chili dog with cheese, and that only includes chips, no fries or drink. I like supporting local but you aren't getting much bang for your buck here.
We discovered The Pavilion Grill on our bike ride from Hoeft State Park into Rogers City. We were looking for a light lunch before our ride back and they were perfect. The hot dogs are made locally and were yummy. We also enjoyed a pina colada slushee. The only thing that would have made it better was a shot of rum!????. Above all, you can't beat their location. As we have now purchased property in the area, we are looking forward to many more lunches there in the future.
After very disheartening stop at the tavern in roger city we went the pavilion grill down by the marine and enjoyed a great burger and fries. Seems ice cream treats is the favor is their. Great place to stop.
The staff is decent but the orders come very quickly!! The ice cream is delicious though!
