Visited today for the first time after hearing good things. The cob meal didn't disappoint, plenty of fittle and good value. The drinks were cheap and served with a smile. The staff who served us, one particularly lovely lady with many tattoos, was really friendly and just so pleasant. Lovely dinner. Will definitely be back.
Lovely cobs- really cheap beer compared to most places and really friendly locals
I've been eating at this pub since The Thorns closed years ago. The food quality is excellent for the price paid and staff are friendly. Adverse publicity recently might have put customers off but I recommend you give it a try for yourself. The meats on the carvery are succulent and plentiful and a good range of vegetables. If the food isn't hot enough for your palate ask for it to be microwaved.

There is only one word to describe this place FANTASTIC FANTASTIC FANTASTIC the staff are lovely, nothing is to much trouble for them. The carvery is amazing. If you like breakfast an all you can eat buffet will set you up for the day until tea time. The price is unbeatable. Good clean pub. Keep up the good work Sam and her team.
The food is OK but they don't wear hair nets .and the fact the sign says all you can eat buffet breakfast then dates and times and straight after carvery 7 days a week. I've always been under the impression you could go back for veg and potatoes just not meat and my son went back up because I told him not to fill his plate he can always come back for more . And they turned him away for some mash if I'd have known you could t go back then I would have told him to full his plate but then they would get lots of wastage first time I've been to carvery and not been able to go back won't be going again walked off and left my dinner I was so upset.
Cheap and cheerful (although some staff clearly aren't that happy). Roast is not bad and Breakfast is huge in quantity but varies from day to day in quality. Prices have increased recently (£4.45 for Breakfast) which took it from good to average in my opinion.
On Sunday it is rammed for Lunch so expect to wait. Some customers clearly can't get enough ;-)
This has got to be one of the best carveries locally. They have lots of choice of meat and vegetables, the gravy is delicious too. Staff are lovely cheerful and friendly.
Only downside is the smoking area is right ourside and the smell drifts through into the pub so if you hate the smell the sit further back.
Had mixed grill for 4 only enough for 2. Still hungry when we left. The chilli chips was enough for a small child. Potatoes are so cheap so could have put more chips on the plate. Not bad taste but not value for money. Such a shame it definitely won't last if people leave hungry
