Such a lovely place to wander into.. dog, and human super friendly. They have a gorgeous little pooch who's so welcoming, but best of all is the overall atmosphere. They're family owned, and really took the time to get to know the locals. And the people you meet there are the friendliest, most welcoming bunch. Definitely hits as the best local pub.
Also, VERY decent music, and not so loud that you can't have a conversation, it's a lovely cozy ambience.
P.s. don't forget to try the honey they sell, VERY locally made and fantastic
Have not been here in years but was amazing back then have kids now we all just been up for food and beer was fresh food was unbelievable so good will we make this a regular visit for sure girl that was serving us so helpful and nice thank you very much see you again soon
Great, family friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with exceptional food; never had a bad meal here, and been a few times. Had the lamb special and it was amazing! Service was great, especially considering the place was full. Overall would 100% recommend
This building has been in the family for over a 100 years come see this lovely building and enjoy some delicious old fashioned food. He was telling us some lovely stories about his family and how many generations have owned it and he even said the people were out with their phones measuring the difference angles of the floor it's pretty incredible. We haven't stayed in the rooms per se but I imagine there are amazing
I've driven past this place so many times and it's always busy. We went in for a drink there once and wanted to go for a meal. We finally went with friends last night and it didn't disappoint. The food is home cooked, good portions and delicious. The girls who served us were great and it was very Christmassy so a wonderful atmosphere.
My only criticism is that our table was near the door and the front door is held open (?) so the freezing cold wind comes in through the inner doors and made it unpleasantly cold. I'd ask for a different table next time but we'll definitely be going back.
First visit after 30 years of living in the area and passing by. Big mistake! Will not be missing this one again. Excellent atmosphere and food. Staff great. Thanks.
The menu is a bit small, but the food is lovely. Was rather chilly inside, but overall, a place I would recommend.
