Best KPortal Reviews
The best fish and shrimp in the Metro Detroit area. The serving portions are truly great. I drive all the way from Riverview, MI to get this treat. I remember years ago this place would have a line of cars wrapped around the corner. I think the person who own this place passed away and it was closed for awhile. I think the family decided to reopen. I'm so very glad they did. Much success to Waves. ????????
It has been years since I've eaten here. Let me tell you that they still don't disappoint. Food was fresh as if they just caught it. I used a 3rd party delivery and it was worth every penny. It was neatly packaged and arrived hot. This is one business that has not changed its recipe..Definitely on point❤️
My entire order was delicious and very well packaged. It’s apparent that they actually invest in their business, everything tasted fresh. This is one of the cleanest and most sanitary seafood restaurants in the entire city. I also appreciate the pleasant and patient staff. It’s always a pleasure to patronize a black-owned business that clearly takes pride in ensuring each customer becomes a repeat customer.
My sons order came up to $97, which he mistakenly paid cash.. Found out what happen, as soon as he walked out the place. got out my car immediately ran into the restaurant to let them know he used wrong method of payment. She said showed me a sign basically can't get my money BK to pay with my card. Mind you my son just left wasn't even full minute when I ran up in here. I did have attitude cause she hit me with that word "baby" but i did not get smart! She was very rude and had a mouth on her butt calling me baby and sweetie at the end of her rude statement. Lightskin middle aged lady maybe 30, 35. She was very very unprofessional and rude. She needs to be careful. It's crazy people in that neighborhood. U may be behind bullet proof while u work. But your not when u get off sweetie, baby, boo. I'm saying be respectful in "yr establishment" at all times. You got to much mouth and that's dangerous for u and yr business! This is for the customers who had a issue with her. I know where y'all coming from only reason I posted this. And please don't respond with yr sarcasm on how u handle anything at yr restaurant. U piss a lot people off.
I'm really big on sisterhood. I'm always trying to bring us up and hold us down. I've had a not so great experience with the owner's daughter. Anytime I engage with questions about the food or something pertaining to them as a business instead maintaining a constructive way of communicating she becomes defensive EVEN THOUGH the questions I asked are warranted and it's not anything to address anything negative it just be a question maybe about one of the items on the menu that may be different from what they've had in the past. She seemed to come off defensive which as a professional I've never endured when I was dealing with the father of the business. I've had nothing but great experiences with him he's always been extremely nice and make you comfortable with asking a question without feeling like you're going into a debate. I've had this experience many times with women in powerful positions it is mostly in the African-American neighborhood. This business has been around for years and I've supported them as far back as I can remember. I just hate that when I try to connect with women of color many of them seem to forget the rules of engagement especially when your the face of the business in question. It's ok to make it ok to be nice and respectful to your customers making them feel like they can ask a question without it coming off like there giving a testimony in court by a prosecutor. Though their hours have changed I'm always looking forward to seeing the father instead of the daughter when I visit. And if she's there which is pretty much every time I'm in the area I go somewhere else unless my cravings overrule my having to have this woman. I heard it's hard to keep people on the clock there and I can almost imagine why. People like to work in environments that feel like family not where they have to feel like they have to walk around someone on eggshells. And that's a true way to describe this woman. If I ask a question and I may not agree or want to try to understand the answer that she gives me she basically challenges every single word that comes out of my mouth. It's in her facial expressions and the energy that bounces off of her. I'm not really expecting this review to change the way this woman is it's just that we have to do better as women. It's okay to make it okay. It's not always a debate especially over some shrimp, fries and fish LoL.
Been going to this place for years. The last two times I went here service was extremely poor. The woman even had the nerve to call me a liar because they would.not honor one of there coupons. Will not.be back.
Fish and shrimp was good. Call ahead to avoid wait time.
