If you want a good, Maxwell Street Polish Sausage fix, this place is legit. The home cut fries greatly compliment everything (except maybe the tacos on the menu). Service is quick and friendly. The area is not for everyone. While I don't like being panhandled at all anytime, I especially don't like when waiting to order food. Sometimes it's one person, maybe sitting on the ground looking up at you; or it could be a shirtless dude asking to buy him a pop, or a barefoot guy drinking E&J asking for a dollar. Most people I know would avoid going, but I usually shrug it off and get my fix rather than drive to University Village. The price is right and the junk food is,...well good.
I was surprised when I ate their tacos. You get better tasting tacos from the polish/burger place. Then 90% of the actual taco spots in Chicago.
Only bad side it there is a 99% chance , it will a few beggers asking you for food or money.
I ordered a pork shop and it tasted horrible. It was not freshly cooked. It was old with a little meat. The cheese burger didn't taste good for some reason or they just serve old meat.
This place has the flavor and atmosphere that makes it a historical landmark in the Chicago area. There is no glitz here, only great food and memories.
Better than the original, by far! The area is very sketchy. You may risk being robbed or harassed by the police, but the food was excellent! A pleasant surprise after the consistent disappointment of the original Maxwell Street.
The fry’s use to be fresh and good I don’t know what happened when I grab my fires they was like this they polished was ok just didn’t like the texture of all the onions stacked up on one small polish the Fry’s look days old n look like someone bit off it
I've always used the delivery service and am a satisfied customer. The food always arrives still warm and very fast my only complaint would be that once my order was left on the porch, other than that no complaints.
They are cool funny workers just need to move the line alot fast but I know food has to cook to be right
