Ordered cod fish and chips special offer for £4.99 collection only .Chips were cold and we're dark not cooked in clean oil or not been filtered .fish batter was soggy and not crispy but was good cod fillet decent size.
Ordered through Just Eat. No opportunities to specify salt and vinegar or salad and sauce on burger or kebab, so it comes default. The chips were mostly lovely, crisp outside, fluffy middle and golden, but there was a large number that had really bad bruising, even a potato scallop was bruised. Poor. And while the regular fish was expected to be small, the ends seemed like they had been fried several times it was that day while the middle was just a mush with a terrible aftertaste. Barely edible but the unbruised chips were ok.
The Olton Chippy is obviously a popular take away as plenty of customers on a Sunday evening. All food appears to be cooked to order so there was a wait but staff worked flat out trying to accommodate hungry customers. I ordered two battered sausages & small chips which was plenty for two adults!
Have now been here a few times and cannot fault each time, food is made fresh to order, great quality and taste, highly recommend
This place is great! We've been a few times now and the quality is consistent every time, fresh and tasty, what more can you ask for? They make everything to order, so yes you have to wait a couple of minutes but I would take that any day over old food. The prices are extremely reasonable to top it all! Highly recommend, an easy 5 stars from me.
Food digusting and the oil in the food and they aren’t very polite or happy and the service rubbish the fish tasteless and was soggy batter and cold waste money won’t be coming here again
Best chippy around. Fish is cooked fresh to order, flaky white cod.
Kebab is cut fresh to order.
Big portions and fairly priced
All served in a box so not sweating in the bag.
Staff super friendly.
Faultless
Great service and a high quality food. Fresh, well prepared and reasonably priced. After trying once this place has become my favourite chippy.
Definitely worth a visit!
