incredible food, great decor and service. Really well priced for what you get. 10/5 will come again
5 shiny stars! The staff is well trained and friendly. Very efficient.
When we arrived before midday, they were already packed. Dispite this, they had time to pay attention to the dogs, cleaning the tables, take orders, PICKING UP THE PHONE and run around with food.
Our meal came very fresh, piping hot and as it should be.
Truly, a lovely place
Superb cafe at the bottom of mermaid street with lovely outdoor seating area in the sun. I had the ploughman’s platter which was huge and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place, very clean, tidy and nice staff.
Breakfast visit very good.
Menu choices varied to suit all needs throughout the day.
Staff very welcoming and helpful and the venue has a mix of gift shop/restaurant.
Recommended in Rye.
We have been here once before and were really impressed with the quality of the food so we went back when wanting a nice sandwich for lunch.
Sadly this time around the experience was not as good yet this place is still worth a visit.
The bad:
- staff were smoking outside (which is good) but did it right at the entrance so no getting away from it when needing to go in or out
- staff were having lunch when we were there and decided to sit at one table speaking their own language whilst an English colleague was left to eat and was only spoken to right at the end which I find rather rude
- the establishment is also a shop for some curiosities yet not everything has a price which makes it feel like they can charge what they want
- my other half ordered a burger which was cheap and greasy
The good:
- lovely location right in the middle of beautiful Rye
- staff are always polite and friendly to customers
- sandwiches are amazing : good quality bread and generously filled
- the coffees are really nice
This is a great little place to eat -it has a really relaxed, quirky feel.
The man who served us was genuinely warm and helpful.
Only knocked a star off as the menu wasn't very well presented, allergens, veggie/vegan options very limited and not marked on the menu so we had to ask what was what which felt a bit awkward.
Portions were a good size and the location is brilliant.
It just needs a little finessing!
Great food portions, very tasty. Very busy. We sat out side; it’s a lovely location and a little shady which is good in oppressive heat. I’d recommend their omelettes! Very impressed.
Lovely interior and fast and efficient service but cappuccino just a weak milky v hot coffee, fish finger sandwich was dry and tastless. Really expensive, £45 for 3 for lunch. Just not worth the money. Disappointing as lovely place.
