The Old Boat House is exactly as it was with a modern old world twist to it's past. Although we only had drinks, sitting by the window on the comfy settee gave us an ideal position to watch a world, inside & out, go about their business.
It's ideally positioned next to the estuary and we will be back.
We have been coming down to Looe for many years & always pop into The Old Boat House when on holiday down here. It is by far our favourite cafe in Looe & has been for many years (we have been to every cafe in Looe).
They have a great selection of meals in their fantastic menu, it’s always great food. They also have an excellent cake selection as well & the added option of their own ice cream for dessert as well, which is delicious (we sampled a few flavours earlier in the week).
What we also love about The Old Boat House is their location, being located at the harbour side in East Looe with the added advantage of an alcohol licence we can literally sit back, take in the views whilst enjoying a glass of wine together taking in the views, we love it, nowhere compares.
Today, after many years of visiting the cafe on holiday we actually met the owners, what a lovely family. It is a real family affair, parents & their daughters, all so friendly & hard working, customer service always on point.
If you haven’t been to Looe yet? What are you waiting for? and make sure you pop into The Old Boathouse because you will not be disappointed.
5 stars from us as always!

Have been here before. Very friendly cosy coffee shop. Nice and warm inside on a chilly day. I can HIGHLY recommend their cream tea (I had 2 fruit scones) with tea. There is a nice choice on the menu.
Excellent - what a lovely little restaurant and what stunning views - all the staff were friendly and knowledgeable - all on one level with outside eating area - a single toilet that was spotless - well worth a visit and I can thoroughly recommend the cornish pasties - please be careful of the herring gulls ***** well recommended
We came here for a quick grab and had lunch, had to order inside and sat outside with the view for the meal. Great staff, I would recommend to stop by when you can.
Really nice cafe in great location. Good cake and drinks. Comfy sofa in window. Thank you.
A great place with some very friendly folk - lots of outside seating but if all taken I can highly recommend sitting at the window seat inside and looking out.
The back story to my going here is that I was out running in Looe on the SW coastal path and was struggling to find a good route as there were a lot of people out. A friendly runner (Phil) passed by and after a quick chat kindly offered to take me on a route that suited the distance I wanted to go.
We finished the run at The Old Boat House (as it’s his and his wife’s).
Really lovely folk and a great cafe for coffee, food, or a post run beer!
10\10 fantastic cosy cafe on the harbour side, dog friendly and full of charm and history of Looe
