Man walks in with 2 blind friends. Service, staff and banter is great even though he’s a villa fan. Fish and chips great, super crispy haddock.
Living in Spain we rarely get the chance to eat fish and chips in the car, even though we own a fish and chip restaurant. Last night we had lovely grub in the car with steamy windows. It's lovely to be welcomed by a team who clearly enjoy working together and who went out of their way to make the experience enjoyable. Thanks everyone, we'll be back when we're next in town.
Simply outstanding quality - and quantity is, in my opinion, excessive!
When I was a lad (and not that long ago) a cone of chips was 30p and enough for a quick lunch - a cone & ‘mini’ fish was almost too for dinner!
I can see why people travel far and wide to the Nook, it was the best fish & chips I have had in years.
If you like fish from the chippy this is the place for you. Always freshly cooked to order so the batter is always nice and crispy when you get it home.
Best chip shop in Leicestershire. Fish is fantastic and the chips are great. Owner and staff are very good with the customers.
After moving to Leicester in February I have struggled to find a good fish & chip shop and I stumbled on these a couple of weeks ago when my parents were visiting. After a few visits now I can honestly say this is probably one of the best chip shops I have ever visited. The food is cooked to perfection their fish is Absolutely gorgeous service is made with a smile and very polite .. this is a definite must for any fish and chip lover ????????
Apparently the best in the area though not as good as my local chippy. Big queue to get the food. I'd say it was average. Staff member that served me was friendly.
We'd heard that this was the place to go. Unfortunately, it never lived up to the hype. The chips were so overly cooked we threw them away, the pie was nuked to a soggy mess, the sausages were ok.
Just spoken with the owner who explained to me the issues he faced on the night in question, we completely understand and will be eating there again soon and we are sure the food will be up to the quality they are renowned for.
