Don’t book ‘The New Lodge -Cottage- TV in all bedrooms’. Review below - remember, this was advertised as an apartment for 6 people.||||Booked this place for a week, as doctors called us down to Morriston hospital as a brother was very ill.||||Arrived after a long 7 hour journey. Opened the door to an atrocious musty smell. Damp/black dirt in the hallway.||||One two-seater sofa and a coffee table in the sitting room. That was the sum total of all seating, including the kitchen.||||No other table or chairs in the apartment. Not even in the kitchen, where the advertisement enticed people to prepare gourmet meals. Eat off the floor then?||||Remember that this is advertised as an apartment suitable for 6 people.||||Bulbs missing. Plugs for lighting by a bed that had nowhere to be plugged in to.||||||Phoned the people running it. They were full of apologies, and said they’d refund which would take 5 days, and that they’d confirm that by e-mail.||||We had to book a Travelodge at very short notice as we couldn’t stay in this place due to the dirt and must and lack of furniture.||||No confirmation e mail arrived. We contacted them again for that to be sent, and did not receive it.||||We had 5 calls with booking.com which they didn’t cover themselves in glory on. Each time having to repeat the details. They couldn’t get through on the phone over 5 days to the operator of this place, until eventually they came back, 5 days later, saying the premises refused a refund.||There’s a long litany of correspondence where the operators on this premises lied on occasions - they said that no one contacted them upon arrival, which was a lie (they even told us that booking.com had closed the issue, which they hadn’t)||||KG Short Stay are not trustworthy. This place was basically unfit for habitation at the time.||||Both KG Short Stay and Booking.com have been trying the bat this back and forth with us in the middle - both trying to wipe their hands of it.||||A chargeback has been applied for. We didn’t stay in it, and at the moment are out of pocket £650+ for what we paid for it, plus the extra accommodation costs we had.||||Do NOT even consider renting this place.
Room is perfect very clean and well laid out. There is a fridge in the room and a microwave, I found this very helpful it meant I could save money on eating out. And could keep my drinks cool. The staff are very helpful and respond back very quickly. Plenty of parking in a carpark at side of building. And it is easy to access the building and room. I am very happy
The room was clean and warm, the shower pressure was excellent and the water was nice and hot.
The bed was very comfortable slight problem with the key code getting in but it was easy to get hold of someone to help me with it.
Plenty if parking quiet area and lovely views. Good village about a Mile away with good shops, restaurants, lots of pubs and a theatre .
I'm really disappointed. We've had issues from the start. Couldn't get into the building. Code didn't work took almost an hour to gain access. Not clear signage. We're in the apartment so we had allocated parking space which backs to a very unsightly bin area. The apartment stairs and hallway has a awful smell. This was reported 3 days ago, nothing has been done. They've told me this morning they are sorting it. It stinks of poo.
The apartment isn't clean even though they stress it's cleaned throughout. It hasn't.
We've had to move furniture around, the sofa was under the TV. On moving the sofa it was dusty with an old sock under it.
The shower room needs a good scrubbing. I've had to clean it for our use.
No general waste bin. We've had to buy sacks. No washing up liquid. Again we've had to buy our own.
The first day no hot water in the kitchen. An engineer came out and sorted that. ????
Had to ask for breakfast bowls.
The road outside is noisy but didn't bother us.
I'm not normally one for complaining but all the little things have upset me. My husband has Dementia I'm disabled and coming to visit family for the last time has put a damper on our much needed holiday. We've paid far too much to stay here. I've asked for a part refund. No reply. I've also said I really didn't want to stay here. But with no refund we have to stay the week.
As They've said this place is home from home. It sure isn't.
We are planning on where we can go today and get out. We also have to find a restaurant for this evening dinner.

Booked last minute so didn’t expect much but they definitely went out of way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Everyone we spoke to was so friendly and polite, lovely room, clean, comfortable and even got Disney plus on tv for relaxing!
Bathroom was also so lovely, and clean.
Will be returning and would recommend booking for a relaxing night
Room is perfect for my overnight stay, the management company were faultless, couldn’t do more to make my stay easier. Location is amazing, with a shop a short walk and some lovely pubs within a stone’s throw. Definitely stay here again.
Very comfortable, clean and well presented. Kieran was especially helpful and really looked after us really well. Brilliant free WiFi etc , all easy access. I will definitely book to stay at the new lodge again.
First family meal after lockdown etc to celebrate a birthday. Friendly staff, excellent food piping hot and plenty of it. Staff were attentive and lovely atmosphere. Decor was subtle and bathroom areas have been refurbished since our last visit. |We all had 4/6 of us had different meals and everything arrived together including side dishes. Definitely visit again. Thank you The New Lodge.
