From what I understand this pub has been completely renovated, refurbished and taken over by a lovely lady called Michelle. Myself and my husband had such a lovely time here we forgot to take pictures! I had the best fish finger sandwich! We sat there hiding from the rain initially but everyone there was so friendly we ended staying for 5 hours! We loved it so much we’re making a point of coming back next year once the rooms are ready to stay!
Lovely pub, clean friendly, a proper local that is made to make you feel welcome. Plans to have a B & B and food in near future. Can't wait. A real jewel in the Forest, well worth a visit.

It is very nice to see the New Inn back open. Beautiful refurbishment and the beer and atmosphere is cracking. Michelle runs a lovely pub.
I had the best time ever. The landlord and the locals made me feel very welcome. Breakfast was out of this world. One of the locals told me that about 4am if you look out of the window you will see wild boar walking the streets, and guess what..... find out for yourself. The pub is full of curiosities and paintings from the landlord himself. He is a very talented artist. And PC (pub cat) is so friendly. I highly recommend staying. I stayed for 2 nights. Firstly there is so much to do and see and because you can't check in until 4pm you would feel cheated of the time you had there.

Simple no frills accommodation in a great location. The landlord was really friendly, breakfast was great and the pub served decent beer. Room was warm and the bed comfortable. Really good value too. Location was perfect with food close by and really close to Forest of Dean for Mountain Biking. Could have been a little cleaner.
Dirk made us feel so welcome and so did the locals. Happy to have my 13month old pup and helped me with getting things inside. Would definitely stay again. Dirk makes an amazing breakfast too. A proper Inn and a proper bar, what a lovely place.
