This was a decent little place to stop for some brunch in the mountains of Utah. We came during a snowstorm, so we were almost the only ones in the place.
It's attached to a gas station, so if you're having trouble finding it, look for the gas station first.
The food was fine. As Gen-Z would say, it was "mid". Nothing special about it, but it was enough to give us the energy to do some SCUBA diving. The atmosphere was fine as well.
Getting in and out of here can be tricky when the snow is deep if you don't have snow tires or a 4-wheel drive.
My husband and I stopped for breakfast at about 10 am on a Saturday. It wasn’t crowded. We were promptly helped. Service was great! They took our order quickly and we didn’t have to wait long for our food to arrive. It was hot and very tasty! My husband had the biscuits and gravy breakfast and I had the pancake combo. Everything was delicious. We ordered Diet Coke with our breakfast which came in bottles instead of from a fountain. This wasn’t a problem for us but some people might be expecting fountain soda as is common at diners. Our total came to $49 before tip. This seemed like a lot for 2 meals and 2 drinks at a small diner however, we didn’t have any regrets since the food and service were so good and we had zero wait for a table.
Everything tasted fine... Just fine. But the size of my breakfast burrito is an absolute travesty. Please see the ketchup packet for scale in my photo. Luckily this was my first time ordering from here, so I got a second meal just in case.
We came here to get breakfast on a Sunday morning. Was not busy, maybe 3-4 tables. Took nearly 35 minutes to place our order. The people who came in 30 minutes after us were done eating their food before we even got ours when they had placed their order after us. When we got our food 3 out of the 3 meals we ordered were incorrect. We had been there for over an hour and couldn’t wait any longer for them to fix our meals. They offered to give us free French toast which the manager then took out of my friend’s hands after we had paid for our coffee and were leaving the diner. This place needs a lesson on customer service in the food industry.
This is a mom and pop diner connected to a gas station. I saw some negative reviews that said service was bad... it's not, but there are only 3-4 people working there, so you just have to be patient. The food is very good for a diner. Chicken fried steak was very tender. The owner/operators are Latino, so their Mexican dishes are the way they should be (unlike Billy Blanco's down the road). Nice place for a decent meal. If you want ambience and experience, just keep driving down the road.
I was left utterly astonished today. Our cherished brunch spot, renowned among our friends for its exceptional huevos rancheros, delivered the poorest experience imaginable. Despite our group of six arriving to find the restaurant barely occupied—only one table was seated—the service was inexplicably sluggish. A mere five-minute wait to be acknowledged was further soured by the sight of dirty tables throughout. Informed we'd need to wait at least ten minutes for a table to be cleaned (a task that surely shouldn't take as long?), we decided to place our orders in advance. My husband took our guests for a short drive while I remained. Despite the winter chill and the restaurant's emptiness, I was asked to wait outside, barred from sitting at any of the unoccupied tables within.
To add insult to injury, upon their return 15 minutes later, we discovered our orders hadn't even been placed. Moreover, another table was seen settling their bill, only to realize one of their orders had been forgotten. It seems ordering here comes with the risk of not receiving your meal at all.
It's disheartening. A local gem, brimming with potential, now on a steep decline. A word of advice? If you're actually hungry, look elsewhere. This experience has been nothing short of unbelievable.
My experience was good! I didn’t realize it shared a parking lot with a gas station. The food was good, it was suitable for what I expected. My water had a fly in it though. Very sweet people work here!
This little hidden gem has never disappointed. A family owned and operated place that serves the most delicious huevos rancheros in town! Crispy tortillas , fresh yumminess. The chilaquiles were tasty and a treat as well. Live like a local and enjoy this little surprise.
