Proper pub in a beautiful village. Good choice of ales, excellent pub grub, and a really friendly welcome from staff and locals. The gardens are being substantially improved, as has been the parking. Watch out for the regular music nights. This lovely traditional pub has recently been taken over but retains its village charm.
"Absolutely Fabulous " Family + 3 dogs, lunch for my wife's 70th birthday. We were all made very welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. All staff were very attentive and the food was superb. Cannot recommend it highly enough. "Dog friendly " is an understatment". Thank you.
Lovely pub, fantastic staff, excellent beer. Dogs welcome. Opening hours caught me out, but have since been back a couple of times, in fact time for a pint!!!!
What a wonderful little gem of a place! The location is beautiful the rooms are lovely and the service is second to none! We were made to feel so welcome and the general warm small village atmosphere is very real here.
If that wasn't enough for a fabulous stay then to say the food was deliciously sublime is an understatement. 100% worth a visit but honestly contact the landlord directly you will get a better deal!

Steve, the boss man, made us very welcomed. Room was good, ensuite, bed comfortable. Dining areas very busy which is a good sign and superb comments about the food. Good range of real ale. Dog freindly. Will certainly come back when in this region again. Highly recommended.
This was our second stay (last one two years ago) at this Inn and there has been a change of owner this year.|This made no difference to the friendliness and quality of stay. The room was a good size with a decent shower en suite bathroom, tea and coffee (with fresh milk) was provided ( a big plus for me).|The evening menu was very good, perhaps there could be some more specials, but what we had was tasty.|After a decent night's sleep, a good breakfast. It was very nice and the only thng I would say would be give the guests a menu to choose what they would like. A choice of cereals or fruit might be a nice addition.|Without a menu, it is awkward when asked "what would you like" (maybe this is just me??)|Apart from that there were no complaints. The new owners were/are very friendly and obviously are making their mark with the inn. There could be changes planned.|I would recommend this Inn to anyone travelling down to the coast through Dorset. It is very good value and very comfortable.
This is a 'proper' pub with a great atmosphere, well stocked bar, real Pub Grub, and fantastic service||I stayed in the Hummingbird room, which was warm and comfortable with lovely white towels and bed linen||With a full English breakfast included you couldn't beat the value for money||So if you haven't tried it, for a stay or a hearty meal or just a drink, give it a go ....its worth it
