Practically empty when we came at 8.30pm but appeared to have a lot to offer.
Drink prices very reasonable.
If you like 'Spoons prices but you want to watch a bit of football as well, this is a great choice if you're in Bishop Auckland.

Made to feel welcome, immediately. STAFF are very friendly and courteous. Cannot fault in any way. Thank you for your superior staff. Quick to get to you when needing any help. Unlike near bars that leaves you waiting half hour for service ????.

Wow. Where do I start? "Hogan's", as it will always be known to me, is a real gem of a find. And in Bishop Auckland, no less. It doesn't get much better than this. Amazeballs. And prices of drinks are very reasonable. Staff are incredibly friendly. We stumbled across this pub about 18 months ago. They were doing karaoke on a Wednesday afternoon! I spoke to an elderly gentleman in the welcoming communal urinal and said I was surprised they had karaoke on a Wednesday afternoon! He said yeh, it's meant to be on a Thursday afternoon! Who else would cater for punters wanting a karaoke on an afternoon, I ask you?! Wonderful. And I gave one of my best performances of Coldplay's Viva La Vida. That's because of the crowd that had gathered. Indeed, I think much of Bishop made their way to "Hogan's". Everybody was having a smashing time, helping me to reach those high notes that Chris Martin loves ever so much. Although no recording contract has yet materialized, we all need to keep on practising, so I'll be back in the full knowledge that everybody there will welcome me in open arms, supporting me and keeping me lubricated at a very reasonable price.
Top pub in these uncertain times.... Used to drink here years ago... Called In off cuff on a Thursday karaoke day to find it efficient and covid compliment, friendly.... WELL DONE MITRE...
This place is amazing. Centre of Bishop, if not the North East. Near Morrisons cafe and the petrol station. And ATMs for cash. All means you are guaranteed a bonanza time at Hogans. And it's just across the road. I love the customers; such a broad group of folk, full of stories. Fruit machines pay but i really go to watch my bro Steven sing Viva la Vida. Is he there now? I thought he was promised a recording contract?
