1st time here, but glad we came. Staff were excellent with nothing being too much trouble. We were given a large table with space next to it for our pushchair and didn't feel in the way of anybody. Excellent food also, desserts were pricey at £6 each but the slab of brownie served was a very good portion. Will definitely be back
The Mermaid used to be good then had a dip.Change of ownership and is now back to the place to go to get good food and service at a reasonable price. Have had several meals there recently and all been very good. Need to book for Sunday lunch - served meal not a carvery so the great thing is that the food tastes fresher.
Took my mum for Sunday lunch here today. Absolutely brilliant!!!! Staff were very helpful, pleasant and happy. Yorkshire puddings were divine and pork crackling was to die for and the pork was really tasty.||We will recommend this place to everyone, Well done Mermaid, thanks for a wonderful Sunday lunch
Not sure how the stays are at The Mermaid Inn, but the food I can tell you, hands down, THE BEST food I had around the Spalding area. Food was of SUPERB quality, executed beautifully and served pleasantly.
The menu is small and mighty, great little dishes available, reasonable choices, everyone will like something. The menu is also available online, subject to changes, for specials, call in.
Prices are reasonable and well worth for what you are presented with.
We hadn't but my advise is that you book ahead of visiting, it's a busy place.
Good and extensive car parking facilities on site. This is the kind of place that youd travel from home bringing the family back to area where youd served a contract... will be coming back with family and friends.
The pub is lovely, the toilets are clean, the landlady was brilliant, the majority of the food was lovely too, but when the food order came out - one item was wrong & the waiter argued (with attitude) that we were wrong and he knew what we had ordered, he slammed cutlery onto the table, he was quite rude. He leaned over us to collect glasses (snatching up) before we had finished....without even an "excuse me". One order was Steak - 'medium' - which came out 'Well' - but due to attitude - we didn't dare complain. We spent a lot of money on 7 meals and 14 drinks & would've expected a slightly better service. It's a shame that one member of staff can change a brilliant review to an average review ! "Tattoo waiter" - you ruined it !
Revisited the Mermaid for lunch, previous visit being couple of years ago. Establishment and food were still as good as on previous visit. Landlady and staff very friendly & welcoming. Real ale for those who enjoy it. We will not be leaving it another couple of years before next visit. Recommend gammon steak & Lasagne.
Used to be lovely. Husband enjoyed pork 3 ways, and was hungry so able to eat the pie and chips I wasn't so keen on. Used to be a favourite. Obviously changes in the kitchen. Very busy so other people seemed to like it.
A group of us booked here for a reunion. The food was good. A few minor niggles - no soup spoons brought with the soup, the coffee tasted like instant coffee and the mince pies were brought long after the hot drinks.||Car park on premises.
